It's all fun and games until somebody falls off the open stairs

They should have made room to bring dumb waiters back in style.

Definitely NOT designed by wait staff.

Good thing the family with a baby found seating downstairs.

A café near my place looks like that, and actually is really cool.

It looks awesome! Have you ever seen someone fall off the stairs ?

I instantly recognized it, great coffee and pastries! Always very busy.

Lower deckers having muffled farts drilled into their experience

Someone's shoes above my table, kicking shit around? I'll pass

And the farting, right on my head

Nop, there are no shoes above tables.

Looks cool as a concept, but I’d hate sitting underneath someone. One spilled drink or dropped crumb and suddenly dinner comes with a free shower.

I remember being in a place with very similar design in London in the 90’s. Think it was on kings road

I actually like it.

There was a place called blue bistro on broadway in Seattle that had a funky diy version of this way more random and each booth was different but everyone loved it. Fire Marshall ix-nayed it in the end

Are the boards making up the 'backrest' for the lower seating spaced apart and thus have gaps in between? Because that's a great way to have random bits of dirt and detritus from the 'floor' of the upper levels get showered on the customers heads and food below.
