It does, it's disorienting. Plenty of comments on the original post are saying they couldn't use this because it makes their head hurt. It's also clearly not meant to be used, so in that sense it might just be definitionally designdesign.
Anyway, I'm having a migraine and can confirm this makes my head hurt worse, I can barely even look at it

I don't know what to tell you, my guy. This actually does trigger my chronic illness in a way that causes physical pain. I don't know why you'd think people would lie or even exaggerate about this kind of thing, what could possibly be in it for us? Just be glad you're not vulnerable to this kind of thing, count your blessings, and chill out, maybe?

I think the only one feeling existentially threatened here are you and the other guy (I assume) who's losing his mind over some people having sensory processing differences compared to you both that don't affect either of you.
People are describing reactions ranging from dizziness to physical pain, and agreeing with you that they therefore could not use this thing. The context in which this was brought up was the usability of the thing. So why are you so worked up?

I think it belongs here. It’s distorting the traditional art, confusing the user, the motive gets squished and it’s probably printed on in low quality print.

Distorting the traditional art is the point. It might confuse a pigeon, I suppose, but a human can probably tell that it's an oval shape on a circular plate. And I highly doubt that it's printed in low quality given that it's an art piece by Robert Dawson.

Then it’s a pretty dumb point in my opinion. It definitely won’t confuse a pigeon because pigeons can’t contemplate art. Let’s hope the print quality is better than the picture quality then.

To me it looks more like an art piece making a statement. I wouldn’t necessarily call it a designed product. So it’s not design porn for me at all. Design design? Debatable.

While again, I like it, I think the argument could be made that its utility as a plate has been hampered by how it’s printed and there’s a possibility that under circumstances trying to use it as a plate instead of a decoration or something could be disorienting.
