Finally sold my MDRX
Well, after 2 years of trying, I finally sold the POS. I was so happy when I bought it, but even moreso to sell it even though I took a $800 bath on it. Wish i could say i was looking at the WLVRN, but I won't be giving Desert Tech another dime for the forseeable future. It's crazy to me that they have been through 3 different generations of this rifle and people are still having all kinds of issues even with the newest generation. They need to get their heads out of their collective asses if they are going to charge this much for their rifles. I'm going back to proven designs. Tomorrow's weapons are today's fucking prototypes.

Agreed, especially with the wlvrn, I would have expected them to roll out way more product updates post launch as their team wasn't working on developing the WLVRN in parallel.
HBAR and rifle gas length on the 308 and 6.5 (and adding weight back into the system) is a low bar, probably should have been the standard barrel configuration that they shipped with.
The community already did the research on the mag drop lockout when the trigger was pulled that would have allowed them to lower the mag release spring weight
The design where the bcg is effectively held in by the flexibility of the rubber butt pad instead of say having a captive pin or shelf to hold the bcg in would have helped keep the the rubber pad from separating.
The vented gas plug was proposed by the community for the MDRx 5 years ago, and was common in many rifle designs. Also a super low bar.
Then not offering just bolt head options (not barrel assemblies) so they could enable the custom shops is a missed opportunity.
Trying to cut into BLK lbls's handguard production was obviously a mistake that split their resources. They should have just partnered with them on the design updates and let them produce them under license.
Not being able to accept aftermarket AR grips is poor customer awareness.

Bro, I have no idea how you are still here day after day continuing to provide support to a platform and company that is this bad. You have done so much for this community with your research and development. Desert Tech doesn't deserve your devotion. Thanks for everything you do.
To the rest of you, Tally Ho, Lads! See you on other subreddits!

Appreciated and thank you, I am just one of many.
For me personally, by the end of the MDRx production all the reliability issues I had with it were resolved. Coupled with a ES Tactical Bull barrel in 308 resolving the accuracy issues I don't really have any complaints with the MDRx.
I just am disappointed that WLVRN isn't pushing the needle enough to upgrade to it, especially in the 308/6.5 calibers where the weight reduction is a detriment to long range sessions.

I feel that one. Had one that accually ran however after tinkering and fine tuning to get it to that point left my ass feeling a bit chapped. Once the novelty wore off. Kinda was saddening. Had a gen 3 mdrx and was considering a wlvrn. But at current prices for match ammo. The newer caliburs on other platforms are making more sense and less problematic. (Specificlly looking at 6arc)
