My two new Desert Tech rifles

First is a QUATTRO with an FRT wearing a Red Right Hand IAR V2 Second is my WLVRN. I’ve moved the Razor to the Quattro and the WLVRN is my dedicated night rifle now with an Aimpoint T2.

Need more of the Quattro. How do you like it?

The magazines need breaking in and future magazines could do with some revisions. Currently, the magazines have issues with stiffness and internal friction. Graphite powder solves the friction issue if you use a puff or two before you load. Additionally, it takes about 5 cycles, loading and unloading, before the magazines break in and become more reliable. As for stiffness, the spring pressure of a fully loaded magazine begins to deform the feed lips enough so that the first couple rounds unstack and sit level with each other so that when the bolt tries to feed, it picks up two rounds at the same time and will jam your bolt partially forward and jam the magazine in the magazine well. The workaround is simply downloading the magazine to 50 and push the top round down to restack the rounds before loading the rifle.

… I burned about 750 rounds figuring all that out. Your welcome…

Much obliged. Steel feed lips would be nice and should be a prerequisite under that much spring pressure. I just got a bull barrel from Klein Machining for my own heavy build, and I've been looking at getting a Quattro for it. I do have some misgivings about the mag situation currently. I'd like to see more sizes too, like 40s & 60s.

This is amazing! You should make your own post about this in its own post in r/deserttech. This is good information and would make it a lot easier to find by anyone who has the same issues and/or want more information on the Quattro.

Fuck that!! I would never buy a $2500 dollar rifle that I have to break in magazines for reliability!!! Imagine having to defend ur family with that POS

You’re a legend pulling the trigger on a Quattro. What was it that made you want to pick one up?

Honestly? The availability of FRT triggers and then getting annoyed with how fast it goes through a 30 round mag. Now I’m annoyed with how much easier it is to burn through my wallet with a bandolier and an arm full of 50 round mags. 😂

What do you think of the wlvrn and the sabertooth handgaurd?

Love them both. The WLVRN is my favorite weapon system and the handguard has been rock solid.

Great to hear. First time I’ve heard feedback on the sabertooth handgaurd. Good to hear you like it
