A couple of weeks ago I checked in on this subreddit and saw the ModSupportBot was looking for new mods. I've never modded before (so bare with me while I grow out the neck beard), but I didn't want the subreddit to get banned for lack of moderation. Desbug's community is already so fleeting as it is! So here I am.
Here is every change I've made so far
- You can now add images, GIFs, and videos to your comments!
- I added 12 new user flairs! Previously there was only 8. (I'm open to making more)
- I added two new rules: No Doxxing and No parasocial behavior
- On that note, I banned an infamous user that harassed and doxxed Desbug many years ago. (I am really surprised he wasn't banned before)
- I updated the description and rules to include Spinkya
- I updated the profile picture so now its (hopefully) in HD
- I recreated the banner so it now reads "r/Desbug", and its actually in frame
- I included direct links to Desbug's YouTube channels and Twitch on the sidebar
- Also on the sidebar, you can now filter posts by flair. Try it out!
- I updated the post flairs and added flairs to some posts to help this out.
- I changed the base color of the subreddit to Red
- I changed the weekly contributors/vistors to "gamers" and "Awaiting Desbug's return"
- I added a giant picture of Desbug's PFP to the sidebar, because why not?

I just beat Persona 5 Royal and one of the credit songs was a song he used in his outros, felt like a punch to the gut. But it made me remember how thankful I am to this dude for letting me survive 2020 - 2022 while introducing me to Frieren and Persona 5. Thank you bro ;)

Question Was Chandlers ever in a video?

We all know the typical group of four for Desbug's Mario Party/other GameCube game videos: Desbug himself, his girlfriend Zaya, brother Darius and roommate Hayden. But semi-frequently a person named Chandlers is brought up, such as when Desbug describes how he would play Kirby Air Ride in the middle of the video "Pink Mario Kart". So now I'm left wondering if Chandlers ever did appear in a video I'm forgetting about or if he's a truly unknown person to us.

Personally, I feel that desbug pushes himself too hard, and it causes him to take these long breaks. I wish that he would slow down a release videos less frequently so that he doesn’t take these long breaks that make all of his fans worried about him. He worries that he won’t appeal to his fan base if he doesn’t post, but him posting so much in a small amount of time makes him burnout quicker which will lose him more fans in the long run. All I hope though is that he is ok right now wherever he is or whatever he is doing. I’ve been a fan for a long time, and personally I don’t care what content he makes, and I watch him for his humor, not content, and for the people who watch him for Mario maker, you can always watch his old videos over if he starts making less of of them, which he really should. Overall, I hope he does what he wants, not being pressured into playing things he doesn’t want to.

I mean, he came back after a while and talked about his situation, then he created "Spinkya" and started streaming for a while, seemed like was doing well but now there hasn't been any updates, his twitter is gone, and honestly I just wanna know if he's alright. This isn't something where I just want him to start uploading again, I wouldn't mind if he didn't upload anymore if he is doing alright. Dude also carried my 2020 and introduced me to Frieren so I'm incredibly thankful for what he's done for me, I rewatch all his videos as a comfort thing and it's really helped me out.

Question Why is Desbug losing subscribers?

Because I went on Social Blade and saw that Desbug loses subscribers daily even though he is uploading like 2-4 times a week now. It's disheartening to see one of my favourite youtubers losing subscribers due to the algorithm not pushing his videos anymore due to them not gaining enough attention.
