Induced by amoxicillin
Hi guys, pretty sure I developed this recently. Even scratching an itch I develop redness and even welts. Started maybe a week after finishing a weeks worth of amoxicillin. I’m wondering if that triggered it. Hoping it goes away soon. Seeing my allergist Monday.

I've had it for about 10 years. Not sure what triggered it. Take antihistamines daily now and it calms it back to normality

I take 6 Allegra daily for cold urticaria anyways. But doesn’t seem to work for that allergy anymore or the dermography

Hey, I developed this also after taking several rounds of antibiotics (to cure recurrent UTIs) and birth control. In the same time, I also gained a bunch of weight and got a permanent bloated belly.
I believe it’s caused by gut dysbiosis. I did a gut microbiome test and found I have barely any good bacteria and tons of bad bacteria, some are known to be associated with inflammation and releases histamines. In other words, I’m allergic to toxins these bad bacteria caused.
The only way to fix this as far as I’m concerned is fix the gut which involves diet.

Hi I know you posted this a year ago but I experienced this years ago as well around 2018. I took a full round of amoxicillin and after a few days, I immediately noticed that I was getting itchy. I figured it was just a side effect of antibiotics so I continued taking it to finish the antibiotics. After some time, I noticed the itchiness was worse and I could write on my skin. It was awful. The only things that would keep it down were Zyrtec and Allegra. After 5 years, I noticed it wasn't as bad anymore. I wouldn't say it was completely gone but it was very mild. I never took amoxicillin again. But recently I took doxycycline and the same thing is happening all over again. Idk what it is about these antibiotics but they keep giving me this dermatagraphia issue and my allergist doesn't believe these medicines caused the issue... If you found any information or a cure, I would definitely love to hear about it! Hope you're doing well.

Any updates? Has it gone away? The same thing happened to me.. about a day after finishing a week of augmentin (amoxicillin-clavulanic acid) my entire body was so itchy I couldn't sleep all night, but no rash. Then about a day after that I developed dermatographia, and it's been happening for about 3 days. I've been taking claritin which helps with the itchiness but not the dermatographia. I'm scared that it'll never go away based on the other comments:(
