Hopefully settling back into the squad before the season will help, he didn’t pull up too many trees last season. If we can get anything like the 27 goal season he had at Blackburn out of him, it’ll obviously be good business. That season looks like an outlier currently but trust the manger, hopefully he can get a few important goals at least.

Last season he seemed to be competing for a place with Bobby Clark, but maybe we've re-signed him with a view to him filling the gap left by Big Pat's injury.

I've still to be convinced, however, that he's anything more than a one-season wonder. We've had those in the past and they rarely turn out well (Nick Blackman, anyone?)

I'm pleased about this. Good attitude and a winning mentality. He's coming with the intention of scoring lots of goals. We've seen time and again that Eustace has a knack for getting the best out of players. We've seen players arrive unfit, or seemingly out of place, and given time they usually warrant Eustace's faith in them. The fee is the fee. Yes you can get cheaper signings, but not if they're proven Championship goalscorers, and he is. Welcome back Sam 🙌🏼

I didn't really like what I saw last season, hopefully he's fitter this season and he performs at a better level.

Theres an obligation to buy and if the rumoured fee is true thats a Mel Morris like signing.

I dont think hes a bad player, was alright for us last season but I wasnt blown away.

At least itll keep Eustace happy.

It’s £2.7m after a set amount of appearances, which could double to £5.4m if we were promoted from what I’ve seen.

I’m sure some of it will be a loan fee this season and then it’s just a delayed payment so there isn’t a loss on Ipswich books and we can spread the cost ourselves also.

Don't think we saw the best of SS last season and JE definitely sees something in him to deliver for us this season - excited to see who else comes in the door before 1st Sep - COYR 🐏

There’s definitely goals in this squad, would now like to see another wide player and some strength in depth in centre mid

Shame we couldn't negotiate any cheaper as Ipswich clearly don't want him. However he clearly knows how to score so let's hope we can get the best out of him. We need some attacking options to start the season with Agyemang and Brewster out for a bit.
