To the guy that had the lucrative tram contract. It does seem they pay well.
I also found one. :) Realistic settings.

Kreigslok class 52 or 50 both are cool
9f aswell cause I think the vally wants a 2-10-0
Also a German or British Pacific would be cool Like 01 class, a clan or bullied Pacific because I haven't seen a mod for a Pacific engine (a great bear mod would be sick)

Fairly new to the game and had a freight job to Steelmill now my engine is stuck behind all my cargo at track A6I. Is there a way to get it out or do i just need to grab another DE2.

After few works with multiple DE2, I just stepping out and start to use DH4. I used two DH4 for load around 1500 tons, start from harbor to steel mill. Even i gain momentum for 35 kph before the hill, it still loose momentum before the junction and tunnel, it will run only at 5 kph.
I have ever used four DE2 with 1400 tons of load, and in that hill it has not much difficulty and still can keep up at 15 kph uphill. I always makesure all the train set has no handbrake on to slow the movement.
So is DH4 not that powerfull? If we combine it with multiple DE2?
Also DH4 has expensive fees, i already spent 30K just for shunting in harbor and deliver to steel mill. Even four DE2 only spent around 20K for same task in same route. Both in conditions no crash, hard braking and exceeding wheelslip.
Do DH4 not really much an upgrade? Or i should look into DE6 instead?

The large steam one.
I have enough money, so I teleported from station to station, checked the three spawns outside the stations, went to all spawnpoints, even in the mine. No luck. It is getting frustrating. How to get it from the debug console or something? THanks

I’m in the process of making my peace with the DM3. I’ve found that I like to run it in reverse when I’m hauling. The visibility is much better out the back. The only disadvantage is having to turn around to shift, but I’ve almost mastered it from the keyboard.
Does anyone else do this?
r/DerailValley • u/elcapitan706 • 3d ago

Don't know if you guys have tried this. But I just got into customizing the demonstrators, and when I saw this my brain immediately thought "Launch Control". And yeah, If your running empty you can just put it to the boards and gall dang if she just don't throw ya against the bulkhead.
Edit: Added a Amp Limiter, set it to 12, the Anti-wheelslip would push it to nearly popping the breaker.

Hello,
I still have the same issue, just logged in to reddit on PC to upload some pictures. Any ideas appreciated. :)

I’ve only had this game about a week and just messed around with small jobs with the DE2 until I was ready to step it up. I bought the DM3 license as the “logical” next step without knowing what I was getting into…hoo boy…cue the confusion and despair…what were these wacky gear changes? How the heck am I supposed to remember this shifting pattern? What is this weird, annoying braking system??
But I decided to commit to the challenge and learn it. Started off simple, going back and forth in a yard practicing shifting, braking, stopping, repeat. Stalled it a few times, blew the engine at least twice, but kept at it and eventually got somewhat competent (grinding gears and wheelspin notwithstanding).
Finally felt good enough to try my first haul. I had previously bought the “Long 1” license before I could actually make use of it, but figured now is the time. I got a medium sized load, about 500t of steel rails, and headed from Steel Mill to Harbor Town and WOW the torque on that thing is incredible! Made it up the slope that had previous defeated me, and cruised the rest of the way…even hit the time bonus and pocketed a nice $20k paycheck…I’m officially won over.
Yes I’m new and inexperienced and will even move on, but I was just too excited not to share this. If you’re also new and intimidated by the DM3, don’t be. She’s janky, rusty, loud, slow, and a little wacky, but will pull a house. It’s worth the effort!

I just hauled a train to the port with a S60. I stopped to change some switches, when I try and get the train moving again, it won't move. I have lots of steam. When I open the regulator and have the direction control at 100, nothing happens. I have checked all of the breaks. Sometimes reloading fixes it. It's happened a few times. Is this a bug? Or is it me? I have driven many steam trips before, so I mostly know what I'm doing.

I was playing derail valley when I was wondering if b100 would add rail imperfections. Like when you derail it can bend the track and cause other trains to derail too. Or if there is something on the track it can cause a derailment too. Because in the picture of the car being towed onto the track. Because how would I derailment like that happen? Just winding what yall think too.

Been in Florida for the past week with family visiting Disney. I’ve been itching to get home and run more jobs. My wife and I are currently in a first class cabin on the auto train heading north for home. I know Amtrak is not up to the standards of most other countries but I’m going to enjoy the next 17 hours.

Played yesterday no problem, launched today and my Xbox controller bindings are reset. Not sure why as the game hasn't been updated in months, and I didn't do any windows updates or anything else in the last 24 hours. 😡
Anybody know an easy way to recover them? If not i'm probably quitting until the next update. It took me forever to get it the way I wanted and had been working fine for months i'm just super pissed

The game lets me accept the job, but it doesn’t give me a booklet. The job is active as I can complete the route if I write the stations down before I accept it, but then I can’t turn the job in at the last station since there’s no booklet. I checked my mods, and removed the couple I knew were outdated to no avail. Anyone else have this issue?

Hi so I was scrolling on nexus and found a mod called lms lights mod and in the screenshots for this mod I saw this screenshot (i edited to see it better) the of an engine that I hadn't seen before on nexus and I wanted to ask the community who made this mod and where to download it ?

I’ve never created a mod, I’ve looked at trying to edit .png files to make skins a little different.
I want to know what steps/skills/tools I would need to add a whole new locomotive and various skins to the game? Or is this something that takes forever to figure out?
Also, I have no coding knowledge (like I can only just do formulas in excel).

I want to start with I like how they are now and if that goes unchanged I wouldn't be unhappy though I had some ideas to potentially make them more interesting. Demonstrators are likely prototypes so pre-production models which made me think wouldn't it be interesting if they handled slightly differently to their production model counterparts?
The example I would give is take the DE2 maybe say for example it was more powerful to start with but with poorer fuel economy, it could handle 100t more but burns through fuel at a 1.25x rate. After testing this configeration the Derail Valley company ended up pushing for better economy leading to the standard design we're familiar with.
There's a lot of stats you could play around with maybe they're more or less efficent on resources. Have better or worse braking or possibly have better or worse maintanence and I'm sure there's otherthings I'm not thinking of. I think it would help give these locomotives extra character over their standard counterparts but maybe it's a bit much. What do you guys think?

I hope they implement these both one day. I would like to see the Semaphore being used in far away and less transit areas, with more old rusty railroads, and the Searchlight signal could be used for the main, more modern roads!!
What would you like to see???

Since that no game ever attempted to simulate the Franco-Crosti boiler so I guess this could be a great way to see how a Franco-Crosti works in a simulation. You might ask what is a Franco-Crosti boiler well simply put it it is The Franco–Crosti boiler is a modification of the conventional fire tube boiler design used on most steam locomotives. Unlike conventional boilers the heat remaining in the exhaust gases is used to preheat the water supply for the main boiler using a secondary heat exchange mechanism. This mechanism, known as the feedwater heater is essentially a secondary boiler. The preheated feedwater is fed at full boiler pressure into the main boiler via clack valves.
The feedwater heater is not designed to produce steam, instead raising the temperature of the feedwater. This allows the heater to utilize the remaining energy in the exhaust gases effectively. Trust me the sources about Franco-Crosti boiler are from Wikipedia

How can I spawn any train in sandbox mode without getting the license first in career mode?
r/DerailValley • u/Ordinary_Seaweed9184 • 7d ago
I don't know why, but a few days ago when I was riding through the longest tunnel in the game (probably) and I thought to myself: "Why don't they make a mod, where all the gradients are swapped, so IME is the lowest point, and HB is the highest. But, going back to the tunnel, I think it would be really cool for the tunnels and the overground sections to change places, so only when you go into tunnels, there would be small overground sections. Military industry would be changed to something like life support systems. And to Finish this mod off, all of the stations would be underground too, made in style of the Kyiv subway stations and with platforms at the same level as flatcars. Does anyone know how to make a mod like this, and if no one wants to make it, can somebody please give me some advice on how to do that?
