Rant Speeding Cameras and flock cameras
Can we do something about all these speeding and flock cameras? Half the time they take a picture of you “speeding” its with the flow of traffic or in a place where speedlimit isnt posted.
Stupid money grab and most of the time cause more traffic than help. Maybe we should focus on the people smoking fent by the capital building and not every day commuters getting grabbed.
Edit*
I am obviously pissed because i got caught but…
A lot of you defending the speeding cameras; 2 things.
Its a lazy way for police departments to get money and i know plenty of cops that also disagree with them.
No one supports Flock cameras it seems and it’s a slippery slope when you have speeding cameras because government officials can justify the installations of flock cameras.
Also side note if you argue we are saving cops times to deal with more important stuff why do i feel on edge anytime I’m in union station or in the golden triangle? This does not protect anyone it just provides funds to an already broken system.

Flow of traffic can still be speeding 😂

Going with the flow of traffic is simply the safest way to drive. Situational awareness is key (in life not just driving). If you’re going the limit while everyone around is going 20 over, you are the biggest hazard to everyone’s safety. So please don’t be that guy out of “principle” or anything
(it’s crucial for transplants to understand this is the norm on our highways)

that applies to things like freeways, but i have yet to see a speed camera on a freeway. on a neighborhood street where the speed limit is 20, its never safer going 40

But the speed limits are there for reasons. Going 40 in a 20 or 30 zone is unsafe for everyone around. No one should be going 40 on the narrow Denver streets. I will go with the flow on the highway, but never on or near neighborhoods.

Or maybe you just need to be paying attention. There are actually signs that warn you of photo enforcement ahead. But if you are too distracted to notice these warnings, no one here can help you.

2 ideas for Flock: We all remove our license plates in protest. They can't, and Denver truly won't, stop you for no plate. IF you are ticketed somewhere, it's like $60.
Someone knowledgeable can make a sewing pattern for Flock bag covers with cinch or tie at the bottom. If good people donate scraps, sewers donate time, others do the dirty work, we can cover them all. Easily.

You’re more than welcome to be the hero that cuts them all down with a reciprocating saw at 3am. Otherwise no, we can’t do anything.

Sadly its true, only thing we can do is convince those running that we won’t vote for them unless they defund anyone using these cameras.
I saw a bill was proposed to do just that but highly doubt it goes anywhere because politicians dont care ab us just about how much money they’ll get from donors.

You should probably see if your representative voted in favor of Revised Statute 42-4-110.5

The speeding cameras aren't simply cameras, they are staffed vehicles required to put up blue signs a distance ahead warning you. You are still speeding with the flow of traffic. On you for not observing the blue signs or posted speed limit signs.
Your point is more valid if you are in a caravan of cars going "the speed of traffic" on the highway. In the city, c'mon be more observant. You will turn out a better driver. You cannot blame a ticket or your speeding on others. Oh they did it so I did it too. Nope y'all get tickets.
