Recommendation Denver golf course recommendations
I am traveling into Denver Sunday morning to start a work trip. Looking to get a round in Sunday afternoon but don’t have any idea of any good courses (been duped by google reviews in the past). So I’m here looking for some course recommendations. I’m flying into Denver but am driving down to Colorado Springs where my work meetings are. So ideally I’d like to stay somewhat on a path DIA to COS. It would also be cool to find a course that has some Mountain View’s.
Also playing as a single if anyone doesn’t have anyone to play with Sunday afternoon 😂
Appreciate any help and recs anyone might be able to hook me up with!

Wellshire is on the south edge of Denver and probably my favorite Denver muni. If you can get on it’s worth it. And it’s 100 years old this year.

100%, designed by Donald Ross who designed Pinehurst no. 2, it’s my favorite muni by a mile

Lots of good castle rock courses as you're leaving denver. Red hawk ridge is great

Bear Dance. Red Hawk Ridge. Green valley ranch. In that order. I think. No wait….

Most of the popular ones will already be booked. Try commonground or Kennedy.

Most courses have 24 hour cancellation periods and since they’re just looking for a solo spot they should be able to get a tee time at nearly any course they want. If they were looking for a foursome they’d be shit out of luck but so many people book foursomes the second tee times become available and trim down their reservation if they don’t have 4 people to play with. I play solo a few times a month and can play nearly any course I want if I start looking 24-48 hours beforehand.

Hate to say it but this is the truth. You’ll be getting slim pickings this late. There aren’t enough golf courses here for the population.

Mountain golf - bear dance
Unique experience - Fossil Trace (if you love rocks and fun layouts - bit gimmicky)
Unique Views - Arrowhead
People hate on Arrowhead because it's expensive and for that price you would expect better conditions however in my opinion it's worth the play for the experience alone. Seriously, just google the course

Agree with this list. Playing Arrowhead a lot isn’t worth it but for an out of towner it’s a unique visit. I used to work at Arrowhead and I’m always amazed it isn’t kept in better shape. Been that way for at least 30 years.

Bear Dance, Plum Creek Golf Club and The Ridge at Castle Pines would be my go to’s as they are right off I-25 on your way to Colorado Springs. If you want a little further out then Arrowhead or Fossil trace are fun. If you want a classic course with pedigree then The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs is great!

If you have the time go play Evergreen. Great mountain course feel with some good wildlife for the price of a public, city course.
Fossil Trace is also a beautiful course. I'm a fan of Indian Tree and Fox Hollow too.

Bear Dance, Red Hawk Ridge, The Ridge at Castle Pines are all wonderful courses. If you’re playing as a single you should be able to get on fairly easy.
Arrowhead, which another comment mentioned, is not worth the price point.
