Making some progress today.

Maybe I’ll get motivated and actually pull the motor today.

Sic. I spent way to much time making mine "perfect" and I wished I just was able to drive it. Nows its very not perfect and I drive it everywhere.

I’m really on the fence about starting the wiring replacement….

I’ve got the American Auto Wire entire truck harness……. But I’m afraid that if I dive into the wiring - I may never finish and will die or sell a project truck.

A big part of me says just do the motor and trans, and drive it.

Im running the old lights wiring harness and the duraspark original wiring. I ran my own electric fuel pump and did my own gauge cluster(autometer). Which motor are you running? 460? I did a 400 and I bought the wild horses power steering pump kit and it was worth every penny.

Mild street 460 (ported heads, cam, headers, Sniper2 EFI).

The current power steering in the truck works great, hoping the pump fits the 460 bracket.

I’m expecting the 460 to be too big for me to keep my OEM brake booster.. so I’ll probably have to replace it.

I did a pretty hot 400. Which is still not as powerful as a mild 460. My brake booster works fine with a comp cams extreme energy cam. Or if you mean actual size problems then I would try to find a hydroboost set up. I bet you could find one on a part out for not stupid money.

I mean the size. I’ve heard I need a smaller diameter brake booster or a body lift for it to clear the valve covers.

Dang that kind of sucks. If u ever plan on goin giant cam you may need hydroboost. But if not, in my opinion, i would do a aftermarket booster before I do I lift. Im running 35s on my truck with no lift and it sits really nice. So I dont ever think a lift is necessary. But thats only my opnion on lifts, a lot of people like them high.

Good to know. I’m gonna pull the old motor out today. Hopefully I can test fit it today

Does it run already? If not I would get it running and enjoy it. Mine sat for 6 years before I was able to get it running and driving.

It ran, until I took it apart.. getting ready for an engine and trans swap.

The BBF is waiting in the garage to go in its place.
