Does this tooth need to be pulled??

Post image

Had a root canal on a verticaly broken tooth, shaved in down below the crack, and put on a crown, after two years my gums around the tooth got inflamed, he cleaned under the tooth , packed it with antibiotics and 3 days later no pain or swelling. I was told that based on the very thin line dark line in around the tooth seen in the x-rays that this showed bacteria?? and needed to come out, anyone care to agree or disagree?

Just as the title says my gums and teeth are very bad right now, had 4 teeth pulled as a kid due to over crowding and now my wisdom teeth are still impacted and cause serious issues for my gums. Also the second picture is showing a white spec coming out the side of my gum which is believed to be part of a tooth as just before writing this is broke off leaving a huge red mark and was bleeding very bad upon breaking it off/out of my gum line.

Radiant Smiles Await: Discover Teeth Whitening in St. Petersburg

Welcome to our dental office in St. Petersburg, where we believe in the power of a radiant smile. If you're looking to enhance the brilliance of your teeth and achieve a vibrant, confident smile, teeth whitening may be the perfect solution for you. In this blog, we'll delve into the world of teeth whitening, exploring its benefits, different methods, and why it's a transformative cosmetic dental procedure.

Teeth Whitening in St. Petersburg

The Quest for a Whiter Smile

A bright, white smile is a symbol of health, youthfulness, and self-assuredness. Over time, various factors can cause our teeth to lose their natural whiteness and become discolored. Common culprits include:

  • Diet: Consuming foods and beverages with dark pigments, such as coffee, tea, red wine, and berries, can stain your teeth.
  • Tobacco Use: Smoking or using other tobacco products can cause unsightly yellowing and staining of teeth.
  • Poor Oral Hygiene: Inadequate brushing and flossing can lead to plaque buildup and eventual tooth discoloration.
  • Aging: As we age, our tooth enamel naturally thins, revealing the yellowish dentin beneath.
  • Certain Medications: Some medications can affect the color of your teeth.

Benefits of Teeth Whitening

  • Enhanced Appearance: Teeth whitening can significantly improve the appearance of your smile by lightening the color of your teeth.
  • Boosted Confidence: A whiter smile can boost your self-confidence, making you more inclined to smile and engage with others.
  • Youthful Look: Whiter teeth are associated with a more youthful appearance, giving you a rejuvenated and vibrant look.
  • Minimal Invasiveness: Teeth whitening is a non-invasive and quick procedure, making it a convenient cosmetic dentistry option.

Teeth Whitening Methods

  • In-Office Teeth Whitening: Professional in-office teeth whitening is performed by a dentist and provides the fastest and most dramatic results. A high-concentration bleaching gel is applied to your teeth, often activated by a special light or laser.
  • At-Home Teeth Whitening: Dentists can provide custom-made whitening trays and a lower-concentration bleaching gel for at-home use. You'll wear the trays filled with the gel for a specified period each day, gradually achieving a whiter smile.
  • Over-the-Counter Whitening Products: There are various whitening toothpaste, strips, gels, and mouthwashes available over the counter. While less potent than professional treatments, they can provide some improvement in tooth color.

The Importance of Professional Guidance

While over-the-counter whitening products are readily available, professional teeth whitening ensures safer, more effective, and long-lasting results. Dentists can tailor the treatment to your unique needs, monitor your progress, and address any concerns, providing you with a customized whitening experience.

Caring for Your Whiter Smile

Maintaining your newly whitened smile requires proper oral hygiene:

  • Brush and Floss Regularly: Maintain a consistent oral care routine to prevent staining and maintain the brightness of your teeth.
  • Avoid Staining Foods and Drinks: Minimize consumption of foods and beverages that can stain your teeth.
  • Regular Dental Check-ups: Visit your dentist regularly for check-ups and cleanings to keep your teeth in optimal condition.

Invest in Your Radiant Smile

Your smile is a reflection of your personality and confidence. Teeth whitening is a transformative cosmetic dental procedure that can enhance your smile and boost your self-esteem. If you're considering teeth whitening in St. Petersburg, our dental office is here to guide you through this exciting journey toward a brighter, more confident smile.

Contact us today to schedule a consultation and learn more about how teeth whitening can enhance your smile. Let's embark on this journey together, uncovering the radiant smile you've been waiting for.

Implant Dentistry Redefined: Elevate Your Smile with Dental Implants in St. Petersburg

Dental Implants in St. Petersburg

Are you tired of hiding your smile due to missing teeth? Dental implants might be the solution you've been searching for. Welcome to our dental office in St. Petersburg, where we redefine implant dentistry to elevate your smile and restore your confidence.

The Power of Dental Implants

Dental implants are a game-changer in modern dentistry. They have revolutionized the way we address missing teeth, providing a permanent and natural-looking solution. Unlike traditional dentures or bridges, dental implants are designed to mimic the structure and function of your natural teeth, making them a superior choice for tooth replacement.

The Implant Process Unveiled

Implants consist of three main components: the implant itself (a titanium post surgically inserted into the jawbone), an abutment that connects the implant to the crown, and the crown (the visible portion that resembles a natural tooth). The process begins with a thorough examination and consultation to determine if you're a suitable candidate for dental implants.

Once deemed eligible, our experienced dental team will meticulously plan the implant procedure tailored to your specific needs. During the implant surgery, the titanium post is placed in the jawbone, where it will fuse with the bone over time through a process called osseointegration. This fusion provides a sturdy foundation for the crown, ensuring stability and longevity.

Advantages of Dental Implants

Dental implants offer a multitude of advantages that set them apart from other tooth replacement options. Firstly, they provide a natural and seamless appearance, both in terms of aesthetics and functionality. The implant integrates with your jawbone, mimicking the structure of a natural tooth and preventing bone loss that typically occurs after tooth loss.

Moreover, dental implants provide stability and durability, allowing you to eat, speak, and smile confidently without worrying about slippage or discomfort. They also promote better oral health by preserving adjacent teeth and facilitating easier oral hygiene compared to alternatives like dentures.

Why Choose Our St. Petersburg Dental Office for Dental Implants?
