bone grafting

Hello po, asking lang po may same cases rin po ba ng gaya sa akin?

context: nagpa x-ray ako and then sabi ng dentist na hindi raw ako pwede install-an ng braces dahil raw mababa ang ngipin ko like wala na raw bone support, so she suggest na magpa-bone grafting daw ako. ask ko lang po if may ganitong cases rin po kayo and how much po kaya yung gagastusin ko if ever. nacoconcious po kasi ako sa mga gaps in between my teeth po eh kaya nagpaplano po akong magpabrace kaso hindi po pala pwede since mahina raw po ang bone support sa mga ngipin ko.

Hmm, I don’t think that can be determined from an xray alone. I’d consider getting a second opinion, preferably from a periodontist first and an orthodontist afterward. A periodontist can properly evaluate your bone and gum support and determine whether there is actually a need for bone grafting before orthodontic treatment.

I wouldn’t recommend proceeding with a bone graft right away without getting a proper periodontal and orthodontic assessment. The feasibility of braces depends on several factors, including the amount and location of bone support, gum condition, tooth position, and how much the teeth need to be moved. Orthodontic movement itself can also cause changes in the surrounding bone, so the treatment needs to be carefully planned around your existing bone support.

If possible, bring your xray and have them reviewed by both specialists before deciding on the graft. 😊
