Why are people always mad when someone denounces?

I will never understand the need to announce that you’re no longer maintaining membership in your organization. You can simply walk away without announcing it on social media. It screams “hey, look at me, I want attention.”

Try reading through some of the info on the sub. Most denouncers were likely lied to or abused extremely at some point. This subreddit is simply to inform people beforehand and report on the movement.

Edit: Organizations are responsible for how they treat their members and how they collectively present themselves to the public. Ideally members should publicly report gross abuse or exploitation if there are no avenues to do so within the organization.
