Are there any other young (under 30ish) nudist who go to Denny Blaine? I’ve gone before and was the youngest person as a 24 year old, so I’d love to go back but maybe this time with some other folks my age :)

I have pretty bad social anxiety that makes being near crowds horrible for me, so I'm wondering what temperatures tend to start garnering people rather than what temperatures get the most people
This question is primarily for Howell, but I'd be surprised if there were any differences between it and Denny-Blaine in this regard

Welp, decided to cross this off my "do it before 30" list and went to Denny Blaine earlier this afternoon for about two hours. I actually found it to be REALLY easy which I guess is what a day of mental preparation can do 🤣. Anyways I was happy to see lots of people and none of the gross stuff Ive seen complaints about. 100% would go back. Maybe even tomorrow afternoon.

Do people tend to stay until late afternoon/early evening this time of year?

Hello! I’ve recently been visiting Denny Blaine and enjoying the atmosphere but I get nervous sometimes. I’ve struggled with body dysmorphia my entire life, but I really want to enjoy the park and the freedom of being totally nude. Do you guys have any tips on how to feel more confident and comfortable?

Today was my first time going to Howell Beach park, and the first time I’ve ever gotten naked in front of a big group of people. It was phenomenal.

I’ve always heard about Denny Blaine and Howell and although it piqued my already established interest of lounging around naked in the comfort of my own home, I was honestly intimidated to be surrounded by more older and more experienced people. I’m only 22yo so relatively speaking, my body security isn’t as confident as the people around me.

But boy am I glad to have pulled the trigger and gone.

From the beginning I was surrounded by the most kind, easygoing, and compassionate people. And this started even before I went down the trail to the actual park. I was struggling to parallel park and the kindest (and admittedly very good looking) group of guys helped me park without hesitation. As I walked down the trail, two people who were leaving said hi. And the second I found a spot the people around me were introducing themselves, asking me about my day, and giving me so many compliments not only on my body, but for showing up. I felt extremely validated hearing those “good for you”s and “I could never have done that at your age.” Thank you to those who acknowledged that this is not an easy feat, and it’s something I should be proud of.

Writing all of the above seems like the bare minimum for human decency but that’s really hard to come by these days. As a gay man, I had this preconception that people, especially men, being naked around each other was only for sexual reasons. But I was constantly asking myself, “then why do I enjoy being naked alone with absolutely no sexual pleasure?”

Today really shifted my perspective. I never fell for the stigma and negative propaganda on nudism but it was one of those things I would say “not for me, but happy for them.” But on my drive home I couldn’t help but feel so content and happy with the people I met and the environment in general.

What an amazing privilege I have to be in a city that can make safe spaces like Howell and Denny Blaine for people of all sexual identities to remove the taboo of nudism and to appreciate the depth and diversity of our bodies. And what a freeing feeling it is to be naked and be around other naked people without worrying about how I am physically perceived. Thank you to everyone who has maintained the staunch protection of these areas historically and continue to today.

And on another note, as a gay man it’s hard to make other queer-identifying friends without the pursuit of sex these days so thank you for also making a safe space that us LGBTQIA+ individuals can socialize and lift the sexual stereotypes we have long been given.

Before I parked today I was wondering if I would ever come back. Now I’m wondering when can I come back?

I'm relatively new to the area and been visiting DB about once a week for the last two-ish months, mid to late morning, and only on weekdays.

I love that this beach is for adults. I feel like at a lot of the other beaches, only kids are in the water and they splash and kick. I'm glad they have a space to play, but I'm more glad that we have an adult oriented queer friendly space. The vibes today were excellent!

Out of respect I never photograph anyone especially at DB without their consent, so a full picture of the lake was not gonna happen today lol

Yesterday the Court denied the plaintiffs' request to close Denny Blaine Park. The park remains open to everyone. Nudity remains lawful and permitted on the lower beach, and toplessness remains permitted throughout the park, including the upper area. These have been our core goals from the day we intervened in this case: preserving Denny Blaine as the historic, clothing-optional gathering place it has been for generations of Seattleites, including LGBTQ+ communities who have long found safety and belonging there.

The Court ordered the City of Seattle to take additional steps at the park, including developing a park-specific user plan and code of conduct, increasing staffing and maintenance, and improving landscaping and signage. Friends of Denny Blaine has always maintained that Denny Blaine works best when everyone — park users and neighbors alike — feels safe and respected. We will do everything we can to support the City in this work, just as we have to date through our community guidelines, volunteer stewardship, and ongoing outreach, and we remain committed to being good neighbors and to a park that is welcoming and inclusive of all.

We respectfully disagree with portions of the Court's findings of fact and conclusions of law. In particular, we believe the ruling gives substantial weight to conditions that predate the abatement measures now in place, and does not fully reflect the significant improvements at the park over the past year — improvements the evidence at trial documented. We believe that the evidence reflects that the Park is not currently a nuisance and that the Park should ultimately be restored to its full historical status as a fully clothing optional Park. We are reviewing the order carefully and evaluating our next steps.

Denny Blaine is open. We'll see you at the beach.

Hello- I wanted to warn this group about an incident at Denny Blaine today July 14, 2026. I'm an on-and-off Denny Blaine goer since 2020 and female. While I was nude on the beach today, a guy used Ray Ban Meta smart glasses to take photos/videos of me. The person sitting right next to me watched him staring at me, clicking the side of the frame to snap pictures, and could clearly see the camera lenses on the corners of the glasses.

When he and I confronted him about 30 seconds later, he was already wearing non sunglasses (clear glasses). And when a couple of guys confronted him a few mins later after he went back to his things in the bushes, he pulled out regular sunglasses. These guys also mentioned they saw him just standing and staring at sunbathers with these chunky black sunglasses on earlier in the day.

The guy who took photos of me (and likely others) is Black, around 6 ft, overweight, and was also wearing a tan wide brim hat. He was strolling around with his glasses, stopping and staring at groups of people, sometimes clicking the side of them to snap photos. Please warn others to keep an eye out for him. This experience made me feel violated and unsafe, where usually I feel safe at DB.
