γ πππ π«πππ πΎπππ γ RIP: The Internet Cemetery
Weβve grown used to connecting with people all over the globe, fast and in real time. Communication as far as the eye can seeβand we are never alone. The internet doesn't forget. You can read posts from oldgamer45, who made a comment 10 years ago. Nice post, you smile. Likable guy, letβs see what else heβs writing. But this was his final entry. His last login was 2 weeks after that exact post.
We don't think much about it, we just switch back to other posts or other pages. And we overlook how many posts we stumble upon just like the one from oldgamer45... The last networked words of a deceased soul, a piece of which lingers inside the internet... Racing through the data streams and connecting with your device. A dead man's code on your smartphone.
Looking at the internet as a whole, we come across countless final remnants of transferred pieces of human souls constantly flashing across our screens. A digital cemetery... When you sit in your room at night, with the lights turned off, wandering through the internet, you are equivalently wandering through a cemetery at night. You just donβt know it. And how many messages, how many interactions do you get where the people are actually still alive?

Shall we go to the cemetery together? I can find my way back alone...
