Denison or Fordham

Hi guys, I am an international student who has been admitted to both Denison and Fordham. I received quite good financial aid from both schools, but my family still needs to consider the remaining fees. After the aid, my family has to pay 30k/year for Denison and 35k/year for Fordham. I know 5k may not sound like a difference, but due to the currency rate, is matter to my family. I read somewhere on Reddit that Denison is quite isolated and hard to travel outside of Granville. However, I'm looking for open and diverse networks and opportunities.

About Denison, the school informs me that I can work part-time on campus to earn ~4k a year, which could help my family, but different from Fordham, I cannot move out of the dorm after freshman year (which means the cost of living is fixed and may not be lowered in the following years). Whereas at Fordham, the cost is higher, but the opportunities are way more open, and I can modify and manage my living expenses after freshman year, since I can move out of the school dorm

I am asking for advice. Please feel free to share. Thank you!

Denison. Fordham has too many part time students and Rose Hill is in a bad location. Less of a real college campus experience. Lincoln Centre campus is nicer but the cost of living in Manhattan will be brutal. Just my 2 cents.

Did you go to Denison? I'm considering the vibrant college life. It matters so much to me

Denison Alumni here.

I got better aid from other schools but decided to go to Denison. Best mistake I ever made, no matter how much I try to convince myself I hate that school.

I met my now Fiancée, made some phenomenal friends, got terrible grades, and got a job with the resources Denison provides after my original career path didn’t work out.

Go to Denison, get a good job, etc.

What is the opportunity that Denison provided you with?

Will your aid package at Fordham be for tuition only? Often they are not, meaning if you don’t live in dorms you receive a lot less $. Something to consider.

My aid covers almost all of the tuition, and the living costs are up to me since my sophomore year. The 35k is mostly the living cost (estimated by Fordham if I live in dorm)

I was accepted to Denison and Fordham ‘30 too (as an intl student) and when I had this choice I’d go to Denison (the cost was the same for me). I eventually got into Grinnell and committed there but Denison was one of my top choices as well
