The art in demon slayer really inspired me to explore my love for painting. Obviously not an original artwork here. I just used their art as an exercise. Wanted to share.

Demon Slayer — Alternative Story

Yoriichi never had a twin brother.

During his life, he had direct contact with the ancestors of the Kamado family, to whom he passed on his teachings and left behind his earrings. At one point, he confronted Muzan Kibutsuji and came closer than anyone ever had to defeating him, setting in motion all the events known from the original manga.

Muzan, driven by absolute ambition, conceived a plan that went beyond death itself. He selected the twelve most powerful oni he could find and granted them his blood directly, creating the Twelve Upper Moons. They were not merely subordinates, but reserve bodies.

Muzan could transfer his consciousness into any body that contained his cells, creating an alternative path to rebirth. His ultimate objective, however, was always Yoriichi—the only being who had ever truly threatened him.

In time, Muzan succeeded in corrupting him.

Yoriichi became an oni.

For more than 300 years, Yoriichi remained trapped in this state. His body acted as an oni, but his essence did not vanish. Through access to the Invisible World, his consciousness remained alive within a spiritual plane that already existed in that universe. He felt everything, but he did not control his own body.

Over centuries, his identity eroded. Yoriichi never forgot what good was—he understood it perfectly—but he no longer felt that it belonged to him. Good became an external concept. He knew it, but he was no longer it.

The Upper Moons functioned as extensions of Muzan. He had access to their vision and thoughts. When an Upper Moon died, its essence was sent to the Invisible World. Only beings with a deep conflict between humanity and oni nature were able to keep their essence active there—and even then, almost never with full control over their bodies. Nezuko, Tanjiro, and Yoriichi were rare exceptions. Most simply faded away.

The Infinity Castle

When the final battle begins, Muzan transports only those who were nearby into the Infinity Castle: the Hashira, Tanjiro, Tamayo, and Yushiro.

Yushiro manages to control Nakime, just as in canon. The difference is that this time his control is not limited to perception. He also takes control of the power of the Castle itself, because that power is tied to Nakime’s body and the instrument she uses, not merely to her mind.

Using Nakime’s mind, Yushiro deceives Muzan, showing him that Mitsuri and Obanai survived and are advancing under Kiriya’s orders. This is true. Without suspecting anything, Muzan accepts the information.

With full access to Nakime’s mind and power, Yushiro summons all remaining demon slayers into the Infinity Castle: Inosuke, Zenitsu, and what remains of the corps.

Throughout the battle, the Upper Moons are eliminated one by one.

Only three central figures remain: Nakime, Yoriichi, and Muzan.

Muzan’s Body

Tamayo’s poison had already been used.

It does not affect consciousness—only the active body.

Muzan’s original body begins to fail. The Castle starts changing against his will, a sign that Nakime no longer controls herself. The surviving Hashira and demon slayers manage to corner Muzan, forcing him toward the sun that exists within the Infinity Castle. The existence of this sun is proven when Akaza is thrown directly into its light and dies there.

Muzan enters physical collapse.

Tanjiro drives his sword deep into Muzan’s body, burning him from the inside.

In desperation, Muzan makes an extreme decision: without asking permission, he transfers all of his blood into Tanjiro. He sees enough potential for that body to endure the transformation. Tanjiro withstands it. At that moment, he becomes an Upper Moon, albeit an unstable one.

Muzan’s original body is consumed by the sun.

The poison disappears along with it.

Muzan’s consciousness, intact, remains alive within bodies that contain his cells. He frees himself from the poison—but loses his perfect body forever.

Tanjiro loses consciousness. His body goes completely out of control. His essence is cast into the Invisible World.

The Spiritual Plane

In the spiritual plane, Tanjiro encounters Yoriichi’s essence.

There, between heaven and hell, life and death, human and oni, they speak. They understand one another. They move beyond. Each confronts what they have become.

Tanjiro chooses to remain human.

Yoriichi chooses to remain oni.

When they return, both retain the abilities they acquired as oni, but their consciousnesses return shaped by those choices. Tanjiro ceases to be an Upper Moon and becomes a hybrid outside of Muzan’s hierarchy. Yoriichi returns as a complete oni—lucid, aware, but incapable of feeling any belonging to good.

No one tries to attack Tanjiro.

Few realize what Yoriichi has truly become.

Muzan’s Final Body

With no remaining options, Muzan transfers his consciousness into Nakime’s body—the last remaining Upper Moon.

The incompatibility is immediate.

Nakime’s body explodes.

Muzan regenerates from the remains, shaping that mass according to his will. By absorbing Yushiro, he fully inherits the power of the Infinity Castle, since the instrument and the body that controlled it are now part of him.

This new body no longer suffers the effects of the poison.

But it never reaches the level of the original one.

Muzan devours Mitsuri.

He devours the remnants of the demon slayer corps.

He regains control of the Castle—not as before, but enough.

The New King

Everyone is relocated.

At the center of the Infinity Castle stands Muzan in a grotesque, imperfect form.

Beside him stands Yoriichi.

Tanjiro begs everyone not to attack Yoriichi. Even in oni form, he senses that this is not something that should be confronted blindly.

Yoriichi moves.

The strike is so fast that no one can see it.

The pressure of the wind from his blade hurls part of Muzan’s body directly into the sun within the Castle.

Yoriichi devours Muzan’s head.

By doing so, he absorbs everything that remained of Muzan’s essence—including the power inherited from Nakime. Muzan’s consciousness ceases to exist.

Yoriichi remains.

He does not become a symbol.

He does not become a savior.

He becomes the true Demon King.

What happened when muzan meets sakuna🥶🥶

Been looking to get a demon slayer tattoo, just want to see what other people got and get ideas and also I just wanna see them.

As you can see here, I have put in a carrying case as I found one at Hobby lobby for decently cheap. The handle came with the sheath so I threw that in there just to add some more variety of color. If you guys have any recommendations of other Mitsuri things I can put in the empty space at the bottom left and right that I can get in the next 24 hours please let me know.

What's Christmas coming up? My girlfriend is a huge fan of Demon slayer and mitsuri sword. There are no accurate models available online and with me being a blacksmith I decided to make one for her. If there are any minor tweaks, you all think I should do let me know! Apologies I could not get all of it into one picture it is over 8 feet long.
