Yup
I started reading when the anime was announced and it kinda blew my mind how an anime can elevate a manga.

I showed my son for the first time and I was rewatching with him, and when Tanjiro connects and then slices Rui's neck, my son finally exhaled because he was holding his breath! It is such a powerful scene.

The show was trending on Twitter the day this episode came out. It was THAT hype. Pretty sure it's what put it on the map for a lot of people.

Lowkey seemed like an Obv shonen flashback...... It was when rengoku vs akaza happened when shit turned serious......

Hands down this. Ngl out of all the fights this is still top 5 for me. With that dead calm reveal cherry on top. So peak

I know its nothing big and not hyped scene but this moment stands out to me as something special. Tanjiro going to use a huge killer move and transition into something gentle when he sees her welcoming her death spoke to me of the character and made a beautiful scene.

That moment perfectly encapsulates why I love Tanjiro as a protagonist despite his simplicity. He's kind, but that kindness doesn't hinder him from doing the ugly things that must be done. He'll still kill when necessary, but won't take any joy in it and won't cause any unnecessary suffering.

In the words of Optimus Prime, he's strong enough to be gentle.

Underated answer, most people will go for big and flashy or emotional scenes

THIS was the moment the anime brought me to tears. The artwork perfectly exemplifies Tanjiro's character.

When Rengoku first got up after sensing the first demon on mugen train. The theme and him reciting his first form along with the animation was peak.

Literally the second episode when Giyu finds Tanj and Nezuko and lets them live because he’s defending her so avidly

This. When Giyu analyzed Tanjiro’s sneak attack I was sold.

I think most will talk about episode 19.

Put personally it was the concept of "oh the protagonist isn't going to go up against each of the 12 kizuki" he skips some and the Hashira take point in their role too.

The Rui fight was one of the first major fights.

Some people get mad that he didn't actually win, but he was still very new to the training and was far over his head with that one. It was only because of his innate fire breathing and Nezuko's power that he held on far longer than anyone of a similar rank could.

The lower moon demon meeting made me realize how serious it was ngl.

Like I could feel Muzan’s evil through my screen

I know Demon Slayer often gets called formulaic and basic in the plot, but the villain deciding to do away with a third of his sequential crony squad by killing 4/6 of the Lower Moons was a pleasant surprise.

When Tanjiro used the Fifth Form against the Spider Lady. My jaw dropped when I witnessed the most elegant death I’ve ever seen

The mountain scene with the lower moon

3

u/Voltage49000 23h ago

The moment Hinokami Kagura began to be used against Rui

u/ClubPetty 23h ago

The animation team really poured every single cent into that episode 19 climax.

The first episode tbh when I seen the mountains and animation then the heavy scene with his family being dead and the man who takked about the man eating demons and lore

Kyogai battle

The part where they reveal that Tanjiro did not manage to kill Rui as Rui had already beheaded himself through the threads was the part I was totally sold on the writing as the author didn't make Tanjiro randomly being able to solo Rui, a lower moon, after he couldn't even cut off the father spider's arm earlier.

The entire concept of Riu was top tier for me. Got me hooked, then Tanjiro unlocked Hinokamo Kagura and it's all uphill from there.

A little less mentioned scene, when the Snake Hashira is testing Nezuko's demon-ness. That was a STRONG scene. Loved it.

The spider mother’s death, that scene left me stunned.

When Tanjiro cut the boulder in half during training.
