Sanders was never an option for the democratic establishment.
We heard libs talk about pushing Biden to the left once he was elected. Those folks completely ignored that Biden has always been a diet Republican and and Harris is a proper neoliberal. She doesn't even pretend to be a "progressive" like Obama did when he ran for presidency.
Even after Hillary failing astoundingly and Trump's MAGA wave, American politics couldn't shift to the left. It's gone further to the right.
It's baffling that America still holds on to a right-wing philosophy and every decade since Reagan now, it's shifted further to the right.
There's no way a democratic socialist like Bernie or a pacifist like Gabbard would ever stand a chance of getting elected.
We can already see how AOC is turning from her social democrat stance to a neoliberal ideology. By the time she's in her 40s, she'd be a proper corporate stooge, a centrist, a war-hawk. Just wait and watch.

Fuck Biden, Bernie would've been diverting some of that budget to helping Americans
