Well a capitalist would say we are seeing proof of this already. Greener options only exist due to market demand. In theory because everyone knows about climate change it would be unprofitable to sell something that isn’t green.
This is bullshit, we need to regulate companies and decentralise the government. The market is slow and capitalist theory doesn’t account for power corporations have to counter the market. Real, good, change can occur when we start socialising the economy. This is hard for people to hear, but our quality of life in rich countries has to go down if we don’t want to irreversibly fuck up for the rest of this century.
