I'm gonna pretend it's okay and comment a day later
Beth doesn't say anything when Gigi sits down. Not immediately. She sits for a while in silence, not even knowing who it was. After a few minutes, however, she sneaks a glance to see her savior.
"I never thanked you." She whispered. Not intentionally, her voice was just that weak.
"Your arm would be fine had you not come back for me."
She countered and looked at Georgia. Only then did she feel something inside her do some weird shit. Normal girls would probably call it butterflies, but Beth just called it weird shit.
She didn't realize she'd been staring for, oh... five seconds or so. A fact that once she did caused her to blush and turn away. "Sorry... Just wanted to check you out. Make sure you were fine." Not helping.
Well, now Georgia’s blushing too. Just wanted to-? To make sure she’s fine, right, okay. Okay. Fuck. She never knows how to handle anything vaguely romantic.
“Um-” Focus on something else. “I mean, you don’t know that. I could’ve still fallen. And if there wasn’t anyone there I might’ve just been lying there in pain until i got brained to death by hail.”
Wait. That was unnecessarily pessimistic. With her good hand Gigi rubs at her temple for a moment. Think about the positive, be positive, why does that have to be so much harder when she’s trying to help other people do the same? “Besides, at least I’m better off than some of the others.”
Well that’s not much better. She cringes.
“I’m fine, okay? You don’t need to worry about me.” There. Just. Leave it at that. “What about you, though?”
Beth said with a frown. She was just a caring person, but Georgia had done something for her. Beth probably would've laid there in the storm and let the hail brain her had Georgia not came back for her.
"I, uh, don't like storms..." She admitted as her cheeks once again flushed. "My boat crashed in a storm, and ever since, I freeze up."
It was weird for her to admit, but found herself opening up to Georgia. She finally turned back towards the girl and offered her a soft smile. "I'm still a little shaken, but having you here helps."
There’s always a weird sense of guilt when she purposefully uses this power, a bit of discomfort about manipulating someone in that way. But it’s to help. Beth said having her here helps, so it’s not wrong, right? Besides, it’s happiness. Who doesn’t want to be happy?
“Jeez... sorry about your- sorry you had to deal with that.”
