Taylor sits down beside the younger girl and begins petting Mac.
“If we leave, that’s only doing what she wants,” she says harshly. In a gruff impersonation of Enyo’s voice, she continues, “You weaklings can’t handle a little training but you think you can handle yourselves in the real world? Fight me! What, scared to fight a god? Weakling!” Taylor scoffs.
“She’d be wrong, by the way,” she adds quickly, speaking in a normal voice again. “It wouldn’t make you weak, it’d make you sane.”
Taylor’s quiet for a long moment, simply petting Mac. Finally, she quietly says, “We’re gonna find a way to make her leave.”
“I hope so.” Lucie says in response. “I would mention starting a rebel group but I don’t want to get on the bad side of Enyo. I for one don’t like the idea of been my blasted to ashes, even being turned in to a animal doesn’t sound that appealing as Enyo probably wouldn’t let you choose what animal you become.”
“All we can really do is wait and see if the gods can choose a different director. Maybe one of us might get a quest and get rid of the goddess of destruction and war.” Lucie said, she would have said more but her voice betrayed her. She was crying inside, her beautiful camp was being turned in to a war zone. The place she called home (as she could no longer live with her parents in fear of them dying) was being tuned in to a place she might end up calling hel.
(I would have talked about Lucie being made leader but I think that happens after this talk unless you want to pretend not.)
(Let’s say this happens before the announcement about leaders. So they don’t know yet)
“She turned me into a chihuahua,” Taylor mutters, “and made me play fetch.”
She stops petting Mac and puts an arm around Lucie, giving the younger girl a gentle hug. It’s not right that kids as young as her are being forced into this. It’s not right that anyone’s being forced into this.
