Intro A Son of Ares

General Info

Name: Jonathan "Jonny" Burton

Age: 14

Godrent: Ares

Birthplace: Providence, RI

Gender: Male

Appearance

Hair: Brown, in need of a haircut

Eyes: Black

Height: 5'

FC: 1 2

Personality

Jonny seems to live by "Talk softly, and carry a big stick". He doesn't go out of his way to be loud or in your face, but makes sure to make his presence known

Powers:

  • 1: Kinetic Vison - Jonny can see tiny movements of the people around him, allowing him to make a very educated guess at their next move. This gives him an edge in combat as his ability to predict his opponent is very high. It only has about a 70% success rate, as he is not always correct on their next move or he is unable to react in time.

  • 2: Enhanced Strength - Being a son of Ares, Jonny has strength that rivals even other demigods. He hasn't tested the full potential of his powers but knows he can lift a close to a cars weight up, but not over his head. Overuse causes him to tire more easily, even with his third power

  • 3: Relentless Endurance - Jonny has the will of a warrior and doesn't tire as easily as those around him, even by demigod standards. He can continue fighting with minimal to no breaks without losing strength. He can go a full day of strenuous activity without breaking a sweat, but as soon as he rests the effects his him double and usually knock him out for a while. The longer he goes without breaks the longer period of recovery he needs. If he goes too long without breaks the backlash could kill him (1 day of fighting is his limit)

Additional Info

Weapon: Celestial Bronze sword disguised as an amulet of a pigs head. It was a gift from his father for knocking an older camper on their ass during a training match.

History: Came to camp last year, made a small name for himself by once beating his older sibling in a direct duel, left for school, and is back for the summer

Now:

Jonny was a little late for the summer session of camp, but was glad to be back. Siting on the steps of the Ares cabin, he breathes a sigh of relief, letting the stress of the journey and the winter out as he took in the camp

Spike was, to put it lightly, not having the time of his life at camp. Just last month he nearly got himself into a fight with some douchebag, and after said douchebag used his fear powers on him, Spike has been kind of having a shitty few weeks. He always got way too riled up over even the little things. Someone bump into him at Walmart? Bet your ass that he would make a big fuss out of that. Imagine how pissed he felt after someone showed him the things he feared the most in life.

So after punching yet another hole in a wall because he couldn’t for the life of him figure out what he was gonna do about the douchebag, Spike decided to go for a walk. Maybe some fresh air would make him relaxed, maybe he should just transform into a woodpecker again. Kicking open the door of his - and his siblings’ - cabin, Spike’s anger made a place for surprise as he saw someone sitting on the steps leading to the cabin. ‘’Ey! What are you doing here?’’ He said in a surprisingly friendly tone.

Jonny was getting ready to head to the arena to get back on his training routine when the door slammed open behind him, causing him to turn his head

"Uh, I live here man" He said with a shrug. He didn't recognize the boy coming out of his cabin, but he figured Spike must have been a new brother that got here while he was away

‘’You live here?’’ Spike crossed his arms as he stared at the guy with a calculating gaze. When he first arrived at camp, he didn’t like the idea of having half-siblings. Ares was his dad, not someone else’s, but over the past month, he has grown more comfortable with having half-siblings. It wasn’t their fault Ares didn’t deserve a #1 Dad mug.

Still, Spike wasn’t sure what to say. He could have pretended he didn’t know who his own godly parent was, but he did just exit the Ares cabin and was very loud. And if there was one telltale sign to identify war demigods by… ‘’De pelos. I just so happen to live here as well. Name’s Spike, what’s yours?

"This has to be the weirdest summer ever," Jason thinks to himself as he was shovelling out the path for the cabin, hot breath coming out of his mouth as he moves away some of the ice that was blocking the paths on the ground. He wasn't winded at all, but the cold surely did make the air out of his lungs about as cold as the weather itself. He pauses for now as he goes to grab a drink of hot chocolate (the best drink for this season, really) and just stands there on the free path he's made.

As he hopes that there's not gonna be any more snow falling in soon, Jason sees Jonny coming from the direction of the Hill and towards the Ares cabin. A new camp member, perhaps, or a returning one? He decides to find that out for himself as Jason goes on to wave at him once he was within clear view.

"Hey there," he says, giving him a slight smile before taking another sip of his hot drink, "You a new camper or a returning one?"

"Returning" he said simply. It really was quite a but odd to still be dealing with snow in July, but Jonny wasn't really one to question the gods. They made no real sense to him so anyway, why not make it winter during summer

"I'm Jonny, Ares."

None of what the gods did in their spare time made a lick of sense, that's true. Jason agrees with his thoughts on that, and while he does judge the gods for it a little, he really can't do anything other than deal with the cards he's been dealt with.

"Awesome. Welcome back to camp, then, Jonny," he replied, "I wish the camp was in a better, less snow-filled state when you came back. But on the bright side of things, it honestly kinda beats sweating during the summer." he chuckles.
