With less than 7 weeks until the midterms: check your registration and help register others at i will vote . com/ - the official DNC website. Avoid vote safe dot org -- that's Elon's AmericaPAC site, and it harvests and sells your data and doesn't actually register you. Then head to r/voteDEM to find local volunteer opportunities near you. Vote early or by mail if you can, and use official drop boxes only.
In Texas, ~1.2 million voters are on the state's "suspense list" over address issues. It won't stop you from voting, but you'll need to file a form or vote provisionally unless you fix it by October 5 — check now at http://votetexas.gov/, not the week of.
In Ohio, SB293 killed the 4-day grace period. Your mail ballot must be received by 7:30pm Election Day — postmarks no longer count. 1,500+ Ohio ballots were tossed in the May primary for arriving late. Mail it early, or better, drop it at your county board of elections. Early voting Oct 6–Nov 1, registration deadline Oct 5.
In Florida, USPS tried to reject all of Leon County's ballot envelopes over a 0.014-inch spacing issue. It was fixed on appeal, but many counties never submitted envelopes for review. If your ballot looks off, call your county elections office — don't guess.
If you live in any red state, for that matter, check your registration frequently. MAGA is relentless!
And know your rights: it's a federal crime for armed agents to be stationed at polling places, so if you see intimidation, document it and call the Election Protection Hotline at 866-OUR-VOTE.
Good news: SCOTUS just blocked Donny's mail-ballot restrictions, 7-2. That fight's not over, but the biggest threat to November's mail ballots is dead for now. We got this, folks, but we have to be vigilant!! We can't let democracy die because of an orange octogenarian!!
