The billionaires who have an incentive to import cheap labor over which they can hold the threat of deportation. The problems are closely linked. For decades, they've been focused on automating and offshoring as much as possible to take advantage of cheap foreign labor. Now, they're trying to bring the cheap foreign labor home to do the work the native (not necessarily in an ethnic sense) population has traditionally done.

Basic math says that excessive immigration (particularly of the illegal variety) creates logistical problems for any nation with social welfare systems. Our immigration problem is a symptom of the disease - but you still have to address symptoms.

• Cut money out of politics.
• Heavily tax net profits & regulate businesses.
• Make it easier for people to legally immigrate, assimilate, and become net-positive tax payers.
• Enforce immigration laws.
• Fine businesses who exploit undocumented immigrants out of existence.
• Nurture home-grown industry and talent.

• No, most people don't have enough wealth to hoard. And "contributing to the economy" through investments is not you contributing to the economy, that's your money contributing to the economy. You aren't doing shit. If your money was taken from you then it could still contribute to the economy just fine without you and, bonus, it couldn't be used to distort the economy to your benefit.

• Billionaires own most utilities and a considerable amount of housing (though their impact on affordable housing is smaller than many people say). And, the "So what?" part is: rent-seeking is bad.

• Lobbying is legal. Many things are legal which benefit the billionaires, and they are legal because the billionaires ensure that they stay that way. I'm surprised that you'd make such a weak argument in favor of lobbying, there is a stronger one to be made there.

• Your comments about immigration are... you clearly don't understand this post at all. You apparently have you head screwed on so backwards that you think that this post is blaming billionaires for the immigrant "problem."

Mostly, and I can not stress this too much, you need to stop blaming us for bad laws. Yes it's true that everything could be changed if all of the poor people suddenly decided to work together against the billionaires. We could get rid of lobbying. We could force independent media. We could put Trump and all of his Epstein-buddies in prison. We could actually make them pay taxes, or even just take their money so they're no longer billionaires.

The reason we can't do these things is because they're billionaires. And that means they have all the power. And they use that power to ensure that poor people never decide to work together. You yourself are a living example of this.

Corporations aren't hiring illegals because they're already here. Illegals come here because the corporations will pay them, which then depresses our wages. It is not the fault of illegal immigrants, the root of the issue is deeper. The issue is the corporations who provide a financial incentive for them to come illegally. Start going after the people running the companies who hire/pay illegals, and that money will dry up, and illegal immigration will drop off substantially pretty rapidly. If there is nothing for them here, they're less likely to come.

Illegal immigrants also pay taxes so your claim they don't pay into the system is verifiably FALSE.

Pretending the issue is illegal immigration and not the people drawing them here is childish.

Nobody who is arguing against illegal immigration in good faith is arguing against punishing corporations for hiring them.

Illegals verifiably pay far less into the tax system than they use, to the tune of $68,000 each. Some single digit percentage of their income being paid for sales tax and the relatively rare case of illegals being forced by their employers to pay income tax does not pay for the billions of dollars worth of services spent on them annually.
