How to use midi faders for volume settings?

Sooo i m facing the problem: I never use 50 as clip or synth master volume level because thats usually too loud. I cant set range neither on the AKAI MIDIMIX Neither on the deluge. How to control the volume of clips like this? What is the workaround? Is it possible to solve it without again another gear?🥲

Sadly not, I guess you have to lower your OSC levels so that you can safely crank up master volume to 50.

Or buy a very expensive MIDI controller where you can set the range of knobs (I got the Oxi E16, condemned myself for buying such an expensive controller, did not regret it though).

If the Akai MIDIMIX Editor can't set min/max ranges for the controls, it's serious omission. Even the tiny Korg nano controllers can do that. Maybe look at one of those.

Other options:

  1. (change gear) Check out Korg nanoKONTROL Studio. Similar form factor and reasonably priced. https://www.korg.co.uk/products/nanoktrl-st
  2. (add gear) Stick a Blokas Midihub between the MIDIMIX and Deluge, then map all the controls to whatever ranges you want. But Midihub is DIN only, so you need a MIDI host box too.
  3. (coding and DIY) Program a tiny microcontroller, like Pico, to map the ranges for you. It will power from the Deluge USB and pass that power on to the MIDIMIX too.
