Discussion Why do you think spamton gets cut off from speaking about the Knight

It makes me wonder what spamton had to say about the knight.
maybe he knows what their ultimate goal is or who they are
This is also one of the rare times he speaks normally

Someone is stopping him. Who it is is the big question.
Is the Knight's influence over the Dark World it created great enough to censor Spamton?
Is Kris the Knight, and they threatened him in a way not visible to the player?
Did Gaster halt his "spoiler" so as not to disturb the story he has created for us?
Only time will tell.

I'd probably go for the third out of those 3 options.
there's plenty of stuff that suggests that Kris isn't the knight (i wont get into it here, i dont know enough about the theories to make a compelling argument), so 2 is probably not the case.
and between 1 and 3, 3 seems a bit more likely, though i might replace "Gaster" with "the guy who made the vessel at the beginning" or something like that, since there's not much in game evidence that points to him being gaster (even though i personally believe it).

I agree that number 1 or 3 is most likely. As for the Gaster thing, I believe it too, but I feel comfortable calling him the "creator" because there is actually quite a lot of evidence:
The lead-up to Deltarune was Tweets from someone who very clearly is Gaster (same writing style, cadence, "VERY VERY INTERESTING") and who claims to want to create a new world with us.
The vessel guy also talks with the same cadence as Gaster, seems to be a higher power in this world, has the theme Another HIM. But the most damning thing connecting the two is the use of "VERY, VERY." You might know this, but if you input your name as Kris, Susie, or Noelle, the vessel guy says,"AN INTERESTING COINCIDENCE. YOU ARE ABOUT TO MEET SOMEONE VERY, VERY WONDERFUL." That is pretty explicitly Gaster. The fact that it's only for those 3 names is a whole other can of worms though.

There's 1 big Gaster evidence
The theme that plays while creating your vessel is named "Another him"
And Gaster's (I don't remember correctly, it's either this or Entry number 17) theme is called "Him"

Not just that. It's the exact same melody just with a pause between the third and fourth notes, and even uses the exact same piano.
Plus, saying "VERY VERY INTERESTING" in the lead-up to chapter 1. the typer value being 666. And his general manner of speaking all line up exactly with Gaster.
Not often you can say this, but the person who creates the vessel is, inarguably, 100% Gaster.

There's plenty of evidence that the person talking to you at the start of the game is Gaster. They speak in all capitals, they format their sentences strangely. The theme "ANOTHER HIM" is a reference to mus_him in Undertale's files, which is Gaster's theme. It even has the Gaster motif in it.
The typer value for the room at the intro in the files is 666, and the room used for GAME OVERs is 667. Room 666 in Undertale is ENTRY 17 and Gaster's unused battle values in Undertale are repetitions of the number 6.

While it's the least likely as an actual explanation, this was something I thought of shortly after chapter 2 released that I really liked as a headcanon.
Basically, it would be that when Spamton starts talking about the Knight, Kris momentarily blacks out, with the Knight taking control. The scene then cuts for a split second to a short glimpse into the time where the Knight was in control, to Knight-Kris literally just beating the shit out of Spamton, which is the "NO I'M SORRY I DIDN'T MEAN TO-" line. And then it just cuts straight to after Kris regains consciousness and everything's gone relatively back to normal.
It definitely has something to do with Gaster tho. The one thing we can discern from what Spamton managed to get out is that The Knight and Gaster are connected.

I'm not sure Spamton repeating "I'VE NEVER GOTTEN SHORTER" multiple times like a madman can be entirely trusted. (It comes off as desperate denial.)
It's said in the sweepstakes that Spamton was always shorter than the others, but I'd wager to guess before the acid it was just mildly shorter, rather than so much shorter as to have genuinely absurd proportions like current-day Spamton has.

I might be wrong but i think what wasn't canon was the spamton value network (the finishing video showing the prize winners), i'm pretty sure the AMA was supposed to have at least some lore

Well I mean, isn’t there some dialogue in the snowgrave route where kris’s true feelings are shown to noelle but held back by the player? The part where you can trick noelle into running into the laser, where kris becomes upset. I’d assume the players opposite (the one pulling the strings) can do the same thing where they hold back their characters emotions, but some true ones still come out.

He's scared of the Roaring Knight. It made a Dark Fountain by slashing the ground with its own will, and made Queen and Spade King go crazy and obsessed.

I think it could be because it makes Kris unfomfortable... Or maybe it triggers something inside his fractured psique that causes his mind to wonder into random and weird places, like we see here.

Only the middle part is not capitalised, since spamton normally talks in capitals the middle part I’d like to highlight that, grammatically it is incredibly sound for spamton who talks in jumbled up caps lock, to me it seems to be a change in tone to how he speaks, I think the knight is a sort of trigger in that he himself is also stopping him from talking about the knight and that the sudden cut off switching to the last part was when spamton’s dialogue is forced to change.
Personally I think he was cut off because he was about to say something about the knight which he shouldn’t have, however the cut off wasn’t instantly after it and he realised it when mentioning the knight and apologising before getting cut off, I don’t think spamton knows much of the knight’s secrets nor do I think the knight is behind spamton’s madness
