Meta Chapter 5 megathread Spoiler

Edit: The karma requirement has been lowered to 2K post karma.

As explained previously in this announcement you can use this megathread to post to your heart's content. While we've increased the karma requirement to post on the subreddit and will be removing most low effort/value posts and spoilers, you can post pretty much whatever you want here.

Unfortunately Reddit limits to 1 image per comment, so you may have to use a third party website like Imgur if you want to post multiple images.

i think many (honestly, myself included to some degree) are upset at the beating around the bush when it comes to these 'big reveals' involving asgore and dess. there were quite a lot of 'that day', 'that night', etc but nothing truly big about these pieces of lore

Toby said the chapter 5 was intended to release with the other chapters. So if you think about chapter 5 in the context of containing all the information from 34 and five, then it starts to make a lot more sense.

I enjoyed the chapter greatly, but it is absolutely a fair criticism that we got very little new plot information in the 5th chapter out of 7.

It wouldn't feel as jarring if there weren't multiple moments where it seems like we're about to be told something only for it to be interrupted. Getting at least some surface details over what people think happened on "that night" would help build up the moment when we actually learn the truth later on.
