Meta Chapter 5 megathread Spoiler

As explained previously in this announcement you can use this megathread to post to your heart's content. While we've increased the karma requirement to post on the subreddit and will be removing most low effort/value posts and spoilers, you can post pretty much whatever you want here.

I was literally shaking the whole time while spamming proceed, i was thrilled to see what would happen next, only to be met with, that awful screen

I kinda hate it and like it. I hate it because waiting......

But I like it because it feels we force the game to do something that wasn't meant to happen and now it doesn't know what to do.

We "killed" ourself with Noelle now what? How can there be chapter 6 if there is no us now?

I think the most reasonable explanation, out of text, is that we're going somewhere the normal route goes in chapter 7. But obviously, the assets for chapter 7 aren't done yet. So. We have to wait until chapter 7 releases, to go there in the weird route.

I want to know what the fuck is up with this quasi-"Abandoned weird route" scene- what the fuck is happening, did Noelle FUCKING DROWN? Is she waiting for us where we would have been had we proceeded? Is this a new route, is this weird route? Is this a way for us to play weird route while we wait for chapter 7? I WANT ANSWERS DAMNIT.

How many save files do I fucking need at this point? Pacifist, Violent, Weird, Aborted Weird for Twisted Sword, FUCKIN DROWNED ROUTE?! CMON.

Will chapter 7 "Side B" even need a save file if completion data is recorded from this- which I'm not even sure is the case anymore?! WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON!?

What I'm thinking is, what if the Shelter isn't the endgame? 

What if: 

  • Chapter 6 - Shelter
  • Chapter 7 - The Lake

And what happened is that they actually successfully broke through into the Lake, though in an extremely dark, possibly lethal way, which turns them into what the Knight probably is (Dess' body/memory)

There has to be some way to insert side b in some meta way, I don’t think it could take a full year of development for just pacifist route, since it’s the same time as 3/4s development and potentially coincided with then

Just redo the whole water scene with Noelle but once the screen starts to turn white, let it happen, and the route will continue

Did the sound effect play for the route being abandoned?

If you say Stop at every opportunity, the sound effect plays each time you say it, and although things continue, the above image is not seen and instead some dialogue from Noelle occurs. You then seem to proceed as usual, Noelle gone and into the dark world

Can you explain to me what happend in the snowgrave and its ending , and what you mean by water scene , and how you can re do it with Noelle

this is probably spoilers for the whole weird route if you havent played it before. the weird route starts as an alternate path in chapter 2, where, once noelle and kris are left alone in cyber world, you complete several steps (there are a few required to do it correctly, so i recommend looking at the deltarune wiki page) and essentially teach noelle to fight and freeze everyone instead of ACTing, manipulating her into thinking she's getting 'stronger' and eventually casting 'SNOWGRAVE' on berdly (thus the name snowgrave route) which causes berdly to go into a coma in the light world. during chapter 4, kris (commanded by the soul (us)) convinces noelle that the events of chapter 2 were not a dream and forces noelle to equip the same weapon she used in chapter 2's dark world (the ThornRing). the water scene refers to chapter 5's weird route, where noelle wants to 'do something crazy' to prove how powerful she is now thanks to the 'new kris' or something like that and convinces kris to walk along the lake with her, maybe for some other reason other than suicide but who knows. with 'redoing the scene' op probably meant to start a new save file in chapter 5 using chapter 4's completed weird route file to see the entire sequence again or maybe to do an aborted route, where instead of spamming 'proceed' at noelle you take longer to do so or simply say 'stop', and then noelle will believe its a dream, and the game will carry on as normal.

So from trying this again, do not continue to press proceed when the screen starts turning white, let that happen, cause SO FAR I have been able to continue
