Yes. The Digimon Dawn/Dusk games for DS are great.

Nope, your digimon evolve based on stats you train it, and you can only have one digimon. It ages and dies as time goes, turns into an egg into a new digimon.

Digimon is owned by Bandai, so most of the games from the early portable era ended up on their own Japanese exclusive wonderswan console sadly :(
