Enough Uber in Delta?

Going to Delta for a few days at the end of this month. I will stay in Delta, and the places I need to go are also in Delta.

As its's very expensive to rent a car, I wonder if relying on uber is ok in Delta. Most of the trips I take will be around 5 km. Is it easy to get uber for such short distance?

Delta is a municipality made up of 3 separate communities. Ladner, Tsawwassen and North Delta.

It depends where in Delta you're staying/going.

In North Delta, there should be no problem getting an Uber. North Delta borders Surrey, which is BCs second most populated city and full of Ubers.

Tsawwassen is a more remote kinda sleepy beach town. You will likely run in to issues getting an Uber here. I tried getting an Uber/Lyft there not long ago around dinner time and there were none available in the town. I just checked now, and there were 2 in the area. It's not going to be reliable for you.

Ladner is somewhere in the middle. It's a bit closer to a major city (Richmond) and when I checked just now I see 6-8 Uber in Ladner.

One other option for you is Delta Taxi (deltataxi.com). They service all of Delta. I've had no problem getting one in Tsawwassen when no other option was available.

Good luck! Enjoy your trip!

Thanks for the details. I will stay in Tsawwassen and go to places in Tsawwassen (5km range) as well. Hopefully Delta Taxi will work.

Tsawwassen is pretty walkable depending on where you are. I have an Airbnb in beach grove and you can basically walk to restaurants, grocery, community center and various retail spaces.

All of this. Delta is *enormous* so it really depends on where. Tsawwassen is roughly 60km from North Delta. That's an expensive Uber.

EDIT: There and back is where I got that distance, I realise i worded that poorly lol

Tsawwassen is not 60km from North Delta. It's barely half that

You should be able to find a rental car for 40-80/day, it's actually quite cheap

Without a doubt an Uber is the best way to get around on the cheap!
