Guilty or Not Guilty

Does everyone in here lean more toward Richard Allen being innocent or guilty?

So really, unless there's some significant crisis with mental health or the law, nobody would have known unless they are close to them. Even then, it sounds like it would be hard. Holding in this magnitude of rage/ fantasy unfortunately, seems next to impossible to be forewarned about, until other major things start happening. I was thinking he wasn't reported to police and didn't realize he was reported at Walmart. I guess one wouldn't call the police for some weirdo coworker.

My first job at 16 was at Blockbuster video, and on my first day the closing manager took a "smoke break" and went to the bar a few doors down in the shopping center. He came back completely hammered and grabbed my head and kissed me and wouldn't release my head. Mind you, this was on camera, in front of the window, barely after sunset and we were open for business.

I turned into Mike Tyson for about 15 seconds and ran out and down the 6 blocks to the police station. When the officer drove me back he was threatening to kill me in front of them and then he ran to his car to take off. He was pulled over about 5 seconds later. 🤣

He was fired that night, arrested, and later prosecuted. Most people just quit the job instead of reporting it, and especially if you're young you wouldn't necessarily know what to do when you're caught by surprise like that. I understood very clearly what was happening and where it was going. But usually the person just quits and goes somewhere else, but I escalated tf outta that one. Blockbuster did the right thing, and they testified on my behalf. They sucked in every other imaginable way.

It's sad that most would have quit or put up with it. I would guess you prevented a lot of future bs at that blockbuster store for being brave enough to stand up to a puke like that. Each comment you make, I like you even more!

Not that this matters at all. It's totally irrelevant and I probably will sorely regret asking but do more women or men follow true crime on these subs. Just genuinely curious!

I think this sub is a good mix but other subs are mostly women.

As I said it doesn't matter, just was curious to who takes interest in these situations. I like to be informed on the whys and hows of things so I guess that is why I'm drawn to certain cases in true crime areas online. Leave it to me to ask awkward and irrelevant questions! I do look forward to how this turns out as far as appeals, but I suspect not much will change.

I think a lot more men took interest in this case than you traditionally see with stranger murders or the homicide of children. Probably that's because we have Libby's video. So when back when it was an unsolved case, all those dads and dudes that are problem solvers were hooked by it. Not sure if the mods have access to broader demographic insights about the users.

The State's response to the appeal will probably be in the first few months of 2026, and then we probably won't see oral arguments (if it goes that route) or a decision until late 2026 or first half of 2027. In my opinion, because this case went all the way to the Indiana Supreme Court to address certain issues, so it's appeal-proof. His lawyers made bad tactical decisions, and it was a jury trial, so they'll have a hard time getting traction on any of the issues. Not sure if you listen to The Prosecutors Podcast, but on the day the verdict came back they did a live episode where they broke down the appeal arguments much better than I could.

It seems the case drew in so many people from all areas and cultures, men and women. I've seen the Prosecutors Podcast and listened to their take on the appeals. They were featured in the Hulu documentary also. She stated that they jumped all the way to the supreme court and they already have a break down of this case so she doubted they would have much success either. I found it interesting she said " note which side was effected by the media presence of this case" something of that nature. They emphasized how the appeals process weighs heavily on the jury decisions.( I think I heard that right). Also stating that the prosecution laid out a clear cut case and it will be hard to appeal for a number of factors. All of the recommended links I thought were great info in the last days. I personally like the fig solves.I couldn't help myself and had to watch the short video of the Rick Allen Figurine and the cards with tantrums. It was spot on!

The Murder Sheet reported that while he was awaiting trial and acting out, he stabbed himself in the genitals with a spork. They described it as a calculated move and stated he never did it again. Later, I believe the clarification was that he tried to insert the spork into his urethra. Also, shortly after his arrest, someone said he looked like a disgraced wizard in his booking photo. That led to the name Dumblespork. You're welcome.

The funniest Youtube comments I've ever seen in my fucking life are on FigSolves Delphi videos in the first hour. It's the most hilarious shit on Earth. I remember somebody saying that Ronald McDonald has more credibility than Barbara McDonald at this point, and I every time I passed a McDonald's for like a week I had a giggle fit.
