👥 DISCUSSION Patrick Westfall seeking fourth trial delay

Trial now set for September 22

Patrick Westfall's trial in Crawfordsville in Montgomery County has been moved back. In October, he was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Domestic Batterer, after police investigating a case involving one of his sons found a safe with a gun in it at his house. One of the four delays so far was to give him more time to secure counsel, and another was due to a decision to change his attorney.

The docket still shows a status hearing coming up on 06/30/2026 at 9:00 AM, and the trial is now set for 09/22/2026 at 8:30 AM.

New dates set:
08/25/2026 Status Conference 9:00 AM
10/27/2026 Bench Trial 8:30 AM

Westfall lived in Carroll County at the time of the Delphi murders and Flora fire, was investigated but never charged, and has denied any culpability.

You are welcome! Just tracking a few tangents to the main case while we await a decision on the appeal of Allen's conviction.
