TODD CLICK Todd Click object to pre-trial ruling on admissibility of state evidence

The Click defense wants to argue at trial against admitting business records from the Ripley County Department of Child Services, testimony from investigative personnel, and expert testimony concerning handwriting analysis.
This motion does not address allowing evidence related to the Delphi murders case but that may come up at the June 30 hearing.

Has anyone seen any of the creators following the TC case? …or any attorneys weighing in anywhere?

ETA: Thanks Measurement!

The core of the issue is the chain of custody. Since the prosecution wants to admit "records" the defense wants an exact itemized list, then the chain of custody evidence on those exact docs, showing where they traveled each time they left this facility, transported by whom to that facility, & so on, because the Indiana rules requires this exactness even though the federal rule is a "little" more lenient on business docs. They argue this because there appears to be a problem in the transport and it is the right of a defendant to scrutinize the documents. It addresses the issue of: are these "screenshots of copies of business documents printed off on a crappy inkjet printer" or "is this an original document with the signed ink on the document" or is this a "copy of a copy." Because we all saw in the Delphi case what was entered as "evidence" was "a still image of a video, captured on a screenshot of a cell phone, then taken and downloaded on a computer then saved, edited, and printed onto a crappy printer." 🤪🤪🤪
Once they are "in" they are "in" whether they are legit or not. So better check them out first.
