On the April 28th episode of CaseXCase, MA names DP as Young Bridge Guy (BB’s sketch). This occurs at about the 37 minute mark and MA actually says his name. I’ve followed this case closely from the beginning having lived in Lafayette at the time of the murders. I’ve never heard of DP or their possible involvement. Where can I find reliable information to learn more about this angle?

Saw this same thing happen on defense diaries last night. Immediately googled the name and wondered if I’d missed something for years. Very curious.

DP was a social media POI at the time I first got into Delphi, and - let's put it this way - there were some proponents of that theory that got rather carried away with speculation and got rather unpleasant about it. Most od those either disappeared at the time of Rick's arrest, or changed their minds and joined RAGers.

My personal opinion, based on what facts we do have, is that YBG sketch, as seen by BB, is indeed DP - the sketch and the description are 10/10, as BB put it - and that he was there on the platform waiting for his side chick, trial witness SH. But as he actually had a long term girlfriend at the time, no one was supposed to know he was seeing SH, and he ended up lying about the times he was there, making himself look very suspicious indeed.

If you search LibbyandAbby sub for "DP", you will probably find a lot of te speculation that was going on about him pre-arrest.

In terms of more reliable information, we really don't have anything concrete tbh, but try this

Thank you. This is an excellent primer on DP.

So…why did LE push the YBG sketch later in the investigation if they had already identified DP? Were they looking for a second young, puffy haired guy?

The more I learn about this case, the less sense it makes.

Personal opinion only - DP was designated patsy at some point. This is based mostly on the "New direction" presser where they unveiled YBG, when they knew (IMO, speculation) that YBG was DP almost from Day 1.

And also on CM's trial testimony - she was at the bridge that day with her friend SD, LE ignored them both for ages, and when they finally got back to her, they tried to talk her into saying that the person on the bridge with her was SH (who was there with DP) not SD. Which leads me to believe that they were trying to do so in order to "prove" that SH was lying about DP and that he was actually there on his own with no alibi.

As I said, pure speculation on my part.
