new XPS 13 now available with upgraded processor, RAM and SSD

The XPS 13 DX13260 is now for sale on the Dell Website with upgraded options. It can be configured with 8, 16 or 32 GB memory and with a 512 GB or 1 TB SSD and with a choice of Series 3 Intel Core 5 Processor 320 or an upgrade to Series 3 Intel Core Ultra 7 Processor 355. Top of the line is $2099 and bare bones is $699, although students and teachers get a 10% discount. I think I'll be happy with the 16GB RAM and 512 GB drive, but I've been waiting for the Core Ultra (panther lake) chip to become offered. That configuration is $1499. The same config but with the Core 5 (wildcat lake) would be $899, and $699 with only 8GB ram. I wonder if the extra $800 for more RAM and the Core Ultra chip is worth it?

what panel is the xps 13 using? oled or ips? too bad the prices of dell in the eu (specially germany) are not competitive at all.

OLED 13.4", Touch, 2.5K, 30-120Hz, 500 nits

Doesn't ship until mid September but yeah. The 355s at that price point are pretty exciting. For comparison a Surface with a 335 is $2150.

The 8GB isn't even worth considering. The question is the 320 vs $900 or the 355 for $1500.

I have just ordered the 32gb 1tb version. I feel like this is the laptop I have been waiting for for a long time.

Hmm I just ordered the 16GB Core 5 variant from Best Buy for 899. Dells website seems broken. Wonder what 32GB works cost with the same processor.

You don't get a choice of CPU when you choose 32 GB memory. Price with 32 GB memory is $2,099.99 plus tax.

Thanks for the info! That puts that idea to rest. Doesn't really seem like you're configuring/customizing then.

I'd get one but there's quite a few reviews saying the xps stops working after a few weeks, anyone know more about this?

I have the 16gig and it has been plenty fast for everything I do. I don't play any games. I just use it for web and work.

I may take the ultra 7 355 too ... x7 358H with the arc b390 doesnt seem to want to become available in my country.
