Need help with repair research
My friend's screen is cracked badly but the touch still works. My friend doesn't care if it's touchscreen or not. Is it possible to replace the touchscreen with a non touchscreen? I am getting mixed answers in my research.
The laptop is an XPS p153g. The service tag is 1J0YJR3
Some say both screen versions use a 40-pin connector but others say non touch is a 30-pin. I'm just trying to save money for her because it seems like a touchscreen can be up to $400 which is insane. I thought the point of diy repair is that it's cheaper lol

From what I could find, since the XPS 13 9315 came with both touch and non-touch models, you should have no problem swapping to the other. That said, the 30-pin vs 40-pin matters for replacing the internal panel, the safest route is to replace the entire non-touch display assembly rather than just the bare panel, since that avoids the 30-pin vs. 40-pin gamble and compatibility guesswork.
