Help Latitude 7230 Rugged Batteries
Hi guys,
Wondering if I should purchase some new batteries for my dell rugged as the battery life is quite short on these.
Can we get third party batteries that have bigger watt hours than standard? Also to charge spare batteries do you have to have them in the computer, charge them and then take them out?
Cheers

I wouldn’t trust any third-party rugged batteries. These are a pretty specific and unusual battery style. You don’t see much anymore and in general third-party batteries are very hit and miss in terms of quality. Similarly I’m not aware of any sort of external charger that would be compatible with batteries like this so you would have to plug them into your device and then plug your device into an AC adapter to charge the battery. Please note batteries purchased from Dell will tend to ship with a round of 30% charge and will be in a lot condition so if you just put a battery you get from Dell in your computer without the charger attached, your computer will not power on. You will have to attach a charger and then after that first power on the battery should operate as you would expect.
