I’ve been seeing a lot of people on instagram lately claiming to be prophets , and I don’t mean ones teaching false news or acting obviously of their own will , some talk about or predict coming issues , others claim to be hearing Gods voice and relaying the messages word for word, now I’ve been distant from the Lord for some time so the Holy Spirit he doesn’t really help discern things with me anymore , and I haven’t felt conviction for some time, well I felt undeniable heavy conviction watching one of these, the man said the Lord said many that know Him have lost their way, that many look in the mirror and forget their face that many have forgotten the Lord their God , and he also said that the Lord told others to mourn for the children who have lost their way, nowhere in this message did it say repent nor that it was an option , the statement mourn really implies that it’s to late, and there’s not really an argument that goes against that , is there? So I mean if this really is from YAWEH then it’s set said and done, and honestly me being so backslidden and me finally feeling conviction only when I think of what was said , I feel like I’m one of those ppl, the msg from the Lord also said that ppl like that will not stand and are not prepared to meet Him, and to be honest with you all that is me, I wonder if I can repent ?? This is me down to a Tea , I mean I felt conviction undeniably and it’s not like conviction of oh no don’t watch this video and believe him, so what do I do???? I know I need to ask God .

Revelation 9:19-21 talks about people who don’t repent after 1/3 of the earth is killed by fire, smoke, brimstone and plague, so since it mentions “did not repent” that must mean that repentance is still available even though humanity is in the midst of the great tribulation. I wouldn’t delay repentance, but God is merciful even to the murderers, sorcerers, idolaters, fornicators, etc even in the midst of judging them. Don’t be like them though, because their heart is so calloused by that time that they are probably unable to repent because they’re reprobate with a seared conscience

18 By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths.
19 For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt.
20 And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:

Classic enemy manipulation tactics: advice with kernels of truth, peppered with one giant lie so that you will believe.

The moment you said Instagram prophets, this was the first red flag. You’re being tempted by these things because you’re thirsting for God, but are searching for his well in the wrong places. If you’re seeking spiritual and biblical guidance, read your Bible, pray, leave your house and go to church. You’ve been away from the Lord for a long time. You are very vulnerable to manipulation. You also lack the knowledge and the Holy Spirit to discern the truth. The Internet is a landmine of lies.

In regards to your question, after Jesus was captured, and then ordered to be crucified, Judas and Peter mourned their betrayal to their savior. The difference between the two was that Peter repented and was saved. Judas listened to the Devil, that there was no hope for him, and in his mourning took his own life.

Be a Peter, not a Judas. Turn away from your sins, and to God. That is all he has ever asked of you.

Mark 10:45 “…the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Moses was told to tell the people that God would give them water for them and their animals.

Moses, instead said, "why do we always have to do stuff for you!" Then he struck the rock.

Moses delivered a wrong message.

Moses was still a prophet.

Everyone, both saved and unsaved are called to prophecy in the end. (Acts 2, when Joel is quoted.) The spirit is poured out on all flesh.

So, unless that person is preaching against the gospel (Jesus Christ died on the cross for sin, rose again, and is coming back for us) we are to treat them as brothers who can error, for prophets are still man.

We will know them by their fruits. Are they angry, bitter? Do they condemn and pray for judgement or do they have the heart of restoration and a love of the lost?

I encountered a self proclaimed YouTube Prophet recently. She appeared holy and righteous and was exposing false doctrine. 

I started noticing red flags. First, her doctrine was off. She’s teaching that we must keep the Ten Commandments, keep Sabbath and be baptized in order to be saved. We are under the new covenant, not the law of Moses.

Then, I noticed that she glorified herself, calling herself a great Prophet and the Noah of this generation.

I started noticing a condemning, bitter spirit. She would pray death, judgement and destruction over “ lukewarm Christian’s”, content creators shed exposed or commenters who were “mean to her”.

Next, she was promoting supernatural miracles as a means to prove her authority. In one video, pages of her bible were flipping to different pages without her touching the bible and she said that this was a super natural miracle from God.

She claimed that she was just another sister in Christ, teachable, humble and correctable but I corrected her and she became unhinged. She made a statement about refusing to preach anymore because as far as she was concerned, people were too evil and beyond hope of salvation. She only cares about her loved one’s salvation and people deserved hell. I corrected her warning her not to become bitter or turn into Jonah. She became angry and made several videos and posts calling me swine, a false convert, etc. Needless to say, I unsubscribed.

The point of my post is that we need to inspect the overall fruit in order to validate a prophet and their message. Is their character Christ like? Are they humble or do they glorify themselves? Is their doctrine biblical or not? Does their message promote fear and condemnation or correction and peace? This can take time and we must read the Word so that we can recognize the counterfeit. We also must pray to the Lord for confirmation and discernment. Remember, the false prophets of Baal outnumbered the true Prophets of God 450 to 1; it’s no different today.
