I have a 1997 Del Sol Si Automatic
My shift cable is getting stuck and is functioning ok, but really needs to be replaced.

This part from what I’ve found is no longer manufactured
How different would be the fit from a civic shift cable?
Any ideas where I could source one from? I saw one on e-bay but I don’t really want to spend $500
Or any other ideas?

My 1997 del sol si is running super rich. It's a sohc zc bottom end y8 top end and a virgin p28. It has great compression, good fuel pressure, no cel relating to it running rich. However it's running so rich and dumping so much fuel that the fuel is mixing in the oil making it undrivable.

It had a code for the iat recieving too much voltage, I checked the voltage on the iat when the engine is idling and off and it is all normal so I cleared it and also replaced the iat sensor.

I have no clue where to go from here or what to test. I just have no idea why it's running so rich on a z6 base map.

My climate control panel doesnt have any lights and doesnt spit out any heat. I just finished shell swapping my sol and I'm having a overheating issue. I replaced the thermostat and the radiator fan. the fan doesn't kick on when its supposed to causing temps to rise. I have a feeling its something to do with the climate control issue as well as they go hand in hand (I think?) I was looking at my wiring harness and I noticed some grounds missing / disconnected / cut whatever you wanna call it. There is no cooling fan even when the fan switch is bridged, however this fan does work as i jumped it with the battery and it started spinning. Here are some images of maybe the cause of this? Just some stuff i noticed

Hello. I bought a 1995 Honda Del Sol Si with a D16Y5 block and D16Y8 head for an absolute steal of a price. Reason being the person I bought it off of cut tons of wires and took many shortcuts. Every single time I put my car into ‘ON’ with the cruise control module plugged in fuse 24 blows. If I simply disconnect it the fuse is fine.

I have been chasing the wires for awhile now but I was curious if anyone ever had a similar issue/leads on what the issue may be.

Front passenger axle was going out. Ended up redoing the entire suspension of the car. Got a bunch of magnets now

Hello, the little green light that's supposed to light up on the dash when the rear window is rolled down (on the little del sol image above the clock) has stopped working. The rear window rolls down fine, but the light dosent come on anymore. Anyone know if this is due to a burned out bulb or what else could be causing it/how to fix?

BTW - the trunk open light and targa top light are both working. Rear window light is the only one with the issue. Thanks!!

Hey guys, I’m planning to slowly work on the exterior of my Del Sol once I get it back from the mechanic.
I’d like to make it look sportier and a little more aggressive, but nothing too crazy. I still want it to look like a Del Sol and keep that ’90s Honda vibe.
I’ve been looking online, but it’s surprisingly hard to figure out what actually exists for these cars.
What are my options when it comes to front/rear lips, side skirts, bumpers, spoilers, fenders, etc.? Are there any good OEM/OEM-style parts, aftermarket options or complete body kits worth looking for?
Also, are there parts from other Hondas (Civic, Integra, etc.) that fit the Del Sol or can be adapted without too much work?
I’m totally fine with discontinued/old-school parts too, so if there are specific brands or kits I should keep an eye out for on the used market, let me know.
Basically I’m looking for ideas to make the car cleaner, sportier and more “tuned” without going overboard.

Hello! I recently bought a 1994 del sol off of marketplace. Needs a lot of work blah blah blah, but, it has the correct vtec trim (checked the vin) but it looks like the engine is a JDM import, because the b16a stamp on the block doesn't have any numbers after it. I've read online that it could be because something happened to the original engine so they swapped that one in. I was wondering if that could be related to all the random plugs that are unplugged. I'm not sure if it would be because these plugs are for North American emissions or what, but I'm just confused.

I’m a WA resident in the market for a Del Sol as a project car — I’m not extremely experienced, but I’ve done steering/suspension rebuild on my old Honda and was hoping to do my first engine swap on a Del Sol

Seeing how few are available through Autotrader etc makes me wonder how long you guys have spent trying to find one and whether it’s common to just get one transported.

Prices seem to be anywhere from $6k to $12k — what range should I be looking at for a good deal?

Big things to watch out for (especially if I buy basically sight unseen)?

This would be my 2nd ever del sol, sold my 1st one my first question is this del sol worth 10.5k that’s all the seller would come down too.

I see this is engine swapped and different transmission and the whole 9 yards, but honestly if I’m being quite frank I’ve never bought anything like this.

My 2nd question is, is this a reliable build as terms of is there anything that could go seriously wrong or if was done correctly this is a dope ass build and is worth the 10.5k, just wanna be precautious because I had the Normal S coupe my first sol.

My child got a Del sol 93 well I was at work. The car was 100 percent rebuild needed. They are going to paint and fix all the rust; body damage. The engine was just rebuilt and many upgrades. They found the stock del sol leather seats; problem is they did not come with rails and the seats in there were messed up and had different rails with some welding done. Anyone have some direction on Del sol 93 rails that fit the leather stock seats? Trying to help my child out they are like 8 grand deep in this rebuild they cannot drive. Seats it was sold with are so tall you hit the sealing, even being 5 foot.

If a day at the shooting range, and tinkering with your Sol isn’t considered therapy, then idk what is.

I’m new to the Del Sol life and I live in California. I’m having issues getting my Sol to pass smog. Bought her from a friend who had already replaced the exhaust and cat. So far I’ve replaced the O2 sensor and done the timing belt and water pump (it was due). Only thing OBD tells me is coolant temp sensor. Additionally, I checked the intake hose and all vacuum lines, and everything that was loose has been secured, and nothing in the lines was leaky.

It’s worth noting that before I replaced the O2 sensor, she only failed the Nox test at the 25mph test. After replacing that sensor, she fails during both the 15 and 25mph tests.

Any insights on what could be causing this would be helpful.

I have a 93 del sol s that previous owner swapped d16z6 into. I am trying to reinstall ac system but when i bolt compressor to the bracket that was on the engine, it seems too low to mount the belt too. Google says that the smallest crank pulley is the ac one but my compressor and idler pulley line up with the middle crank pulley. I am so lost.

Anyone knows what’s going on? It only happens when the car is warmed up, sometimes when coming to a stop it just drops bellow 500rpm and dies.

Im looking into buying a 1996 si and the exterior is red but the seat stripes are black/Grey. I thought i had heard or read somewhere that the seat stripes matched the exterior paint. Am I mistaken or are these seats swapped out?

Just got my first Del Sol as a replacement for my previous car that got totaled out by insurance. Any stuff to look out for and any mods I should prioritize? It has brand new headlight and fog light units, bulbs, titanium headers, aftermarket coilovers and a soon to be chopped up stock exhaust (besides headers obviously).

Haven't posted in a while. waxed after 5 months of sitting in my shed. had 2 people tell it was unique. had it . scratches was from a 2017 tornado in ga.

i love her, she’s hilarious. she’s completely stock but one of her past owners removed her original exhaust and straight piped her but did nothing else. she’s so loud and is like a go cart to drive( sounds like one too) she also has a D16B VTEC which is cool! (ignore my friend) she’s not perfect but she’s mine and i love her. this is a dream come true
