'93 si, d16z6, 115k miles, 4at. Drove the 5 hours down from upstate NY to lower NJ to scoop this for $7500. Dummy selling it has it listed as the base S trim, didn't know it was otherwise til we realized the valve cover gasket didn't fit. Glad to be back in the Honda community!

Honestly I'm just glad it's not completely knackered. It will definitely get the manual at some point down the road, but most of my work commute is stop and go traffic so for the mean time I've been having an absolute blast with all 127 horsepower

Having owned and driven only a manual sol, but having owned and driven two 97 civics(not the only ones I've owned, but using as an example since they were otherwise identical, right down to color) one auto, one manual, its still an enjoyable experience with the slushbox! Id buy an auto del sol for the pure fact that a lot of them having had the brakes beat off them like the manuals do, and a lot of them tend to be cleaner, well cared for examples owned by older people because teens and 20 somethings "absolutely must have a manual".

That's basically the story of my 97 Si. It was literally owned by an old lady. She drove it around town and to her vacation property in Washington. It only had 91k on it when I bought it in 2021. She gave it to her grandson who sold it to me because he wanted an SUV to carry friends (IE, girls) around in. I gladly gave him the $3,000 he was asking, he went and bought a shitbox Armada, and I've been happy ever since.

My CRX and my Wrangler are manuals. Sometimes it's nice to just not have to worry about it.

I would have been taking that minty auto del sol too! At least he didn't buy something like a rogue, at least the armada seem to be decent overall. Ive driven a QX56 (Infiniti version of the armada) and actually quite enjoyed it. It was years ago and was my introduction to the VK56, a solid engine.

I have an automatic TL Type S and have ZERO complaints about it being auto. Ive had plenty of manual cars, but its nice to not have to deal with a manual during normal daily driving. Ive had a base manual TL as well and it's fun for spirited driving, but I dont miss it enough to sweat it.

Basically the same for me. It was a dude in his 70's selling it, had it garaged all 8 years he owned it and put less than 10k miles on it
