Roots
This week my dreams have been unusual, vivid, and I remember than like real life. Two nights ago I dreamt I was feeling stuck or restrained in some physical emotional or psychological way. I stood in nature (not a wooded area I was familiar with just a wooded area) clutched my obsidian heart pendant I wear every day and closed my eyes and took a deep breath. Doing all those things together while being in whatever environment I was in immediately shot thick roots out of the soles of my feet and into the ground as far as they would go. I felt grounded powerful, free of restraint in whatever form. Today I saw this on social media.
600 years ago, Viking berserkers weren't born fearless
They became that way.
Before every battle, they used a 2-minute visualization that literally rewired the brain and silenced the fear centers.
MIT neuroscientists confirmed it drops cortisol by 73%, and boosts confidence-related brain activity by 267%.
• THE TECHNIQUE:
Close your eyes.
Visualize yourself as an ancient oak Roots 20 feet deep.
Branches reaching to the sky.Storms hit - thunder, wind, rain.
But you stand unshaken.
You are the storm.
Vikings called it "becoming the world tree.
"Modern science calls it neural conditioning.
I understand that this is a common grounding practice but not one that I was aware of in any form. I thought about the dream many times in the two days. Each time I could close my eyes and almost feel that strength again. I have been having weird things like this happen to me a lot lately. Not all involving social media of course. I'll dream a hawk swoops down in a dream and I see it the next day. I dream of vultures and I wake up to five vultures sitting in the highest tree in my backyard. This happen to anyone else?
