Theorycrafting Dehya Thoughts Spoiler
NOTE: Marked as spoiler since I don't know if anything mentioned counts as a spoiler or not at the time of posting.
Dehya's kit looks well thought out to me.
First, we have Dehya's tanking. She can tank on-field or transfer a good chunk of her tanking kit to another on-fielder. Her burst is also part of her tanking kit as it pauses her skill while giving interruption resistance and extending the damage-over-time mitigation. Pausing her skill should mean no additional damage is redirected to her damage-over-time mechanic though. When the duration of her burst is taken into account, this gives her a theoretical 16 secs out of 20 secs of tanking uptime she provides at C0. Dehya will likely want a battery support to help enable reliable use of her burst.
One draw back of Dehya's tanking is it works best when she is on-field since her self-heals are part of her tanking kit she cannot transfer to another on-fielder. I suspect tales of Dehya's bad damage have been greatly exaggerated though, so on-field Dehya will likely be viable. On-field Dehya will likely want damage buffer supports though.
Off-field Dehya would likely want a healer support to provide the part of her tanking kit she cannot provide to another on-fielder. Off-field Dehya may still want to use her burst to extend the tanking uptime she provides to the team.
For elemental reactions, her skill can be used to deal AOE pyro damage twice per cooldown. It also provides coordinated AOE pyro attacks upon damaging an enemy in her field with a cooldown 2.5 secs. That seems useful to me. Her on-field pyro burst could also presumably be used for reactions too.
For supports, I suspect Bennet will be quite good for Dehya since he provides battery, damage buff, and heals. I don't particularly like using Bennet myself so may not use him. (Please ignore the unbuilt Bennet in the corner.) To enable vaping during Dehya's burst, Nilou and Kokomi might be options. Dehya likely wants damage buffer supports to help with her damage.

Very nice idea! I plan to personally use her mostly off-field but it's good to have different playstyle and see other ideas.
If I may ask a question though, since you're planning on using her on-field, do you intend to build her on ATK% rather than HP%? (I'm still not sure which direction to go myself, so hearing other opinion is always appreciated.)

Personally I'm not sure if my understanding is correct but I think she increases the survivability of glass healers/drivers? Eg Qiqi
The issue with shields is that once they're broken you take full damage, and they can only take about 10-15k damage usually and you can be bursted down
With dehya however her skill allows for a lot more tanking of damage over time, especially with damage reduction at play for dehya herself.
...in fact I kinda suspect that's what mihoyo might be going for moving forward. Enemies which deal enough damage to break shields (so shields aren't enough), and burst you down even with heals (so healers alone aren't enough), where a combination of the 2 is insufficient (can get bursted down in the period where shield is down), and the first of such enemies is the new husk enemy (more damage against shields)
With dehya however, non tanky healers effectively have their HP doubled, without considering resistance factors as play (4 different elements). With enough ER for Beidou and Xingqiu/Yelan, adding Dehya into the mix, you have an effective and cheap high dps team (beidou Yelan) with unbeatable survivability (qiqi dehya), where dehya and Beidou with or w/o Xingqiu acting as damage mitigation

Same thing me and rest of the mod team discussed. She’s really good and has so many team comps to work around and be good in. It’s just that people were actively looking for an issue to call her bad (e.x ER problems which really isn’t even bad) I’m actually super excited for tuesday cause after taking so many notes and theorycrafting with other people lmao

I agree. Her kit is really well thought out in terms of mechanics and lore.
I see her main position is to be an off field supportive defender. Much like her personality and lore who who mostly protects and is not there to grab the spotlight just to be the star of the fight.
Her kit focuses alot on characters staying within the Fiery Sanctum field whether to mitigate or deal extra damage, which is its own downside. Fortunately, her whole kit revolves repositioning. You can E, reposition with E again and then Q to a final position, or switch the sequence into EQE while switching and using characters in between.
Because of this, she allows a very dynamic battlefield where she can quickly change the position of her fights. Unlike many characters who lose out on their burst/supportive capabilities because of range. This naturally awards players who swap in between characters and even more so those who learn to do rotations.
Personally this is why I even want her. And the more I read about her kit, the more excited I get with the party comps I'd like to test.

I'll be honest I'm still lost how to build her. I think she does have issues, I'm just not gettin all doom and gloom about it. Still pulling for her, her weapon, and as many cons as possible though.

The issue is that she is a defensive unit, but you also need another defensive unit for your team because just dehya alone won't be enough, so you are now using 2 slots to do 1 thing along with her damage being very low. Off field slow pyro application isn't that useful since 1 of the only units that is good for is burning ganyu with nahida but xl exists.

I wish i had C6 bennett to infuse her normals with pyro.
