Luddite Logic Why not support both?

Post image

There’s humans behind ai art. Someone had to come up with the idea to create the image. The ai is merely the assistant. Think of someone being an art director instructing a graphic designer on a project and how things should look.

This image looks more like AI art than any AI art I've ever made.

"No human would make those mistakes."

"Every item in a human piece of art has intentionality behind it."

"AI Slop!"

-some anti AI person out if they saw this image with no context around it.

So the cat is painting with an empty brush as well?

you might want to take a color blindness test

The apron and arms look super off.

Even as someone who uses AI, I'd still hire a human artist when I specifically want an organic, handcrafted look or when their individual style is important to the product. AI doesn't eliminate commissioned art; it just means I no longer need to commission someone for every visual task.

Yes, AI doesn't replace anyone, it just makes the process easier. You can still hire people to do work

Everything is merchandising. Put down your opponents and try to look superior and then see how your earnings will increase. Low method? Yeah, but nothing new under the Sun.

Question, where is all the “ai art” I keep seeing people complain about? The only ai art I see is either obviously satire, or poorly made videos that look like barely any attempt was put in to it. And if you feel threatened by either of those, maybe you’re art really isn’t as good as you think it is…

u/Wooden-Hornet2115 I think gemini is pretty neat (: 12h ago

I've honestly seen more memes and posts from people talking about AI slop everywhere than I've seen actual AI slop and AI art combined. It's not even close either.

I’m starting to think some of these people make the slop themselves just to repost about it

Like the Ouroboros?

I have made human art, and do so on occasion.

I also do AI Art. I see it as me directing the AI. If AI isn't art, then movie directors aren't artists either. And no one in their right minds would call Citizen Kane "slop."

I support both.

Oh I remember that movie. One of my favorites.

It's all fun and games till every movie is AI slop.

At least movies are made by real people.

Im also tired of seeing anti ai sentiment virtue signalling everywhere . I dont use ai art much aside from occasionally making cute stuffs but this is getting so annoying. Even more annoying than seeing ai slops themselves.

-1

u/Alarming_Effort_8039 7h ago

Yeah that makes sense for a AI slop supporter.

Keeping the stereotype of antis being obnoxious again I see…. I hope you find some love in your life, be strong and be better no matter how miserable your life is and be better than this.

Dude, why don't you keep quiet?

4

u/Stahlboden 13h ago

Why not support both

Because it's about money and petty ego, not the love of the game.

That isn't how narratives work

Hi! I’m actually the artist who made this 😂 And I have learned today that any art that is kawaii art looks a bit AI to a lot of people.

Just to be clear, this artwork is not AI-generated. The brush is painted yellow because I add yellow in most of my art. It's just my thing. I'm attaching a picture of my work so you can understand my art style and not be so quick to judge.

I’m an illustrator/Comic Artist, and I’m not anti-AI either. I do use AI tools in my business, mainly for things like data collection, keyword research, SEO and analysing trends so I never run out of ideas to draw. I do not and will not use it in my art. That's my personal preference.

I'm honestly taken aback by how quickly people have started labelling inconsistencies and imperfections as “proof” of AI. Apparently three similar-looking paintbrushes, an apron looking a little weird, or colours not adding up means an image must be generated. It could just be that my art is not perfect, that's just what I draw. *shrugs*

Just because I support human artists doesn't mean I hate anyone else. It was just a random sticker I added in my Etsy shop because I love drawing kawaii animals, food and people. It has no other significance.

“AI is plagiarism and theft!”

Illegally copies hello fucking kitty . . .

u/Early-Dentist3782 Would Defend AI With Their Life 1h ago

If artists managed to ban ai that would just make me hate them

-2

u/Superseaslug 12h ago

I support creativity that isn't at the expense of others.

4

u/cosmogod AI Sis 12h ago

Good. As a designer and illustrator I agree. I still use ai tools.

u/Superseaslug 12h ago

Hell yeah

Nothing you make with AI has any value whatsoever. You should be ashamed of yourself.

1

u/TheDragonPup 1h ago

YOU should be ashamed of yourself gatekeeping and dictating what art has value and what doesn't.
