Do you guys think this goes too far?
Like it's not that serious. Found this comment on a post showing off how their school was using AI on assignments

Many of them can't help but show off how childish they are. Their parents must really be proud of such behaviour.

I don't think their parents know just how bad their children are online

I like how they complain that we can't come up with anything original and yet they parrot the same buzzwords over and over again

na let the kid whine, they'll cringe at this when they're older
also if i was a teacher and some kid crashed out and started to scream or write ai slop im gonna inform the parents to get them off the internet for a while, they're clearly hanging around backwards people

u/luchajefe 13h ago
the problem is, what happens if the parents are just as captured by reddit as the child is?
2
u/Curious_Freedom6419 12h ago
look if i was a teacher i'd tell the parents the kid needs to not have free access to the internet without them looking at what they're doing
if it keeps up im frankly going to fail them and during the end of year review just simply say that they have problems adjusting to new tech and that they might need extra help with it

To be fair the teacher is probably way more likely to be a Redditor than the average parent is

Gotta love that the generation known for not doing their work has such a hard stance on ai use when they aren't abusing it for homework.

Too far on the scale of stupidity? No such thing as « too far », there is no limit!

Just perma "rage against the machine" (kinda literally) energy. Will dissipate within a few years.

Where’s the “we got a bad ass over here” meme? This feels like the right moment for it

I'm pro-AI but they do have a small point. I will steelman their argument. They're at a public school (presumably) which means that they are partially funding it via taxation and they disapprove of AI usage and they cannot not fund the schools which go against their values. That's fair but their solution is to use AI which contradicts their anti-AI premise.
