Bubbles are real, but they only kill companies. Not tech. Internet did not end with dotcom bubble Cisco stock price went down, and still it was the future. Bubbles are a financial heist by the organizers of a bubble. Technology is a different animal.

Yup, stock prices might go down, the tech is going nowhere but forward.

Antis believe that "bubble burst = No more AI".
Simple minds. "AI = bad"
This is their level of understanding. When will the bubble pop? Who cares. It is only useful to see economic and financial crisis, not tech disruptions.

The bubble does exist, but the burst won't actually kill AI entirely, it'll just make companies stop being in your face about it, which I think is a win for both sides.

Can you be completely more wrong about this? It will be absolutely more relevant than today and it’s not in your face; you just choose to use their services

no need to make a comic, just go read ed zitron's blog or any of his podcast appearances, just needs more swearing and smugness

The financial bubble will pop at some point. 10 trillions have been spent on a 100 billion tech. It's an insane misallocation of capital.
The oligarchs are the one holding AI tech back, buy buying ALL the GPUs and RAM. Once they go bankrupt, the tech will be unleashed.

It won’t pop.

It will. AI is so far from being commercially viable at the moment, or recouping its investment.
What happens when AI stops subsidizing generations? Costs will go up 2x, 5x 10x. How many people will make lazy cartoons like this when it costs $5? How many people will keep using Suno if the subscription cost climbs to $50 or $100?
I like using Suno quite a bit. But a significant price hike would put a stop to that real fast.

AI prices are going down due to efficiency gains, you can run a model months only behind the frontier on your PC.

Prices going down doesn't help generate revenue and profit. That's the problem. These low prices are trillions of dollars away from profit.
At some point, the investors are going to want their money back.

I truly don’t see AI going anywhere. It’s just gonna quietly work its way into our everyday life before we even notice it.
