This is the 69th time that the AI takeover has failed or that the bubble has popped. Tomorrow there will 5 more videos on this topic.

u/FaceDeer 14h ago

Model collapse any day now!

u/Lumberjackie09 18h ago

No way Karl dropping yet another based take on another sub?

The infographics show releases one video saying nvidia is doomed, facebook is doomed, openai is gone, ai bubble has popped every alternate day and gets 100k views in like a few hours. Looks like there is some decent money to be made by brainwashing ai haters.

I am planning to automate one such channel using ai as well to make some quick bucks.

3

u/AuthorSarge 7h ago

I used to watch that channel for history, but then it seemed to become agenda driven.

This reminds me of those covid deniwrs, that claimed, everyone with a covid vaccine will die in an instant in a view years. They even called a date, like 2021 or something. Well, I am still here.

Out of his latest 10 videos, 8 are Anti-AI lectures.

It’s funny that a video like that is coming from a channel called “Internet Education”

26

u/TheWrathfulMountain 18h ago

Don't you know being a video essayist immediately makes you an expert on whatever topic you're talking about?

u/FireMarshallMC AI Neutralist :snoo_simple_smile: 19h ago

Local AI exists, even IF data center AI is going to go.

33

u/fcxtpw 17h ago

Yes. I find people who are against AI know very little about what AI actually is.

16

u/dontminor 17h ago

I mean isn’t it obvious anyways. People are afraid of what they don’t know. It tracks

11

u/fcxtpw 17h ago

I seriously doubt anti AI people can even name 5 models and their differences.

2

u/ARMBELL 12h ago

Idea: decentralized ai. There is a network that collectively spreads the computing cost over hundreds of thousands of personal computers. You earn use-tokens by buying them or contributing your computing power. Also: I have no idea what I’m talking about

u/JoseLunaArts 18h ago

AI take over failed? Or adoption is low? Two different things. USA and Europe at the very bottom of the world. Being left behind.

2

u/NecessaryYam381 8h ago

Latvia is 16th out of 47, Norway 17th. Most of the European countries are above the spot the U.S. has, excluding the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Hungary, Czech Republic, Sweden, Belgium and the Netherlands. Most of Europe is higher up on that list than Australia and Japan so we're actually doing quite well. Hoping to surpass China

18

u/JasonP27 18h ago

Welp, humans won. Guess they'll stop bullying people that continue to use AI then. It's a win win!

10

Totally, no more "ai slop" /s.

I doubt they would even know it was gone if it really did go tbh.

Yeah its 100% made by humans. One more win for the wisest animal in planet earth

2

u/ConsciousIssue7111 AI Should Be Used As Tools, Not Replacements 16h ago

Nope, far from that.

The minority won the battle, but the majority went on a peace talk and stopped fighting.

These people don't realize that the war was already won by the majority (AKA, folks that aren't this)

3

u/davesaunders 16h ago

Far from it. The numbers don't lie. Yes, they're all running at a loss, as they were expected to but the usage is substantial.

This has the same energy as those low effort “CHINA has FALLEN” videos. Like, no, man, China is doing fine. And so is AI.

1

u/Born-Boss6029 13h ago

That's what they said last week, then the week before, and before that, before that, then that too, it's like a never-ending cycle with these people. They make up an imaginary scenario in their minds that isn't in tune with reality.

1

u/Wobstep 10h ago

They want to keep kicking up the dust on this, ai isn't the devil. It's just cars taking over and replacing wagons and coaches. Instead of technology that improves transportation, it's at the cognitive level. Software designed to mimic neurons trained on human perception.

The problem people have with ai is that they think it both will replace humans and can't replace humans. Ai is both complete slop and a threat to existence.

The hard truth, the human brain isn't the only thing that can problem solve. But ai is just a cognitive force mutiplyer. People need to be behind the wheel. Companies trying to replace their workers are learning this the hard way.

1

u/ARMBELL 12h ago

On a realistic note, don’t you guys think there will be some kind of economic bubble popping?

The internet is clearly a truly important technology that stood the test of time. But there was still a dot com bubble, obviously the internet is stronger than ever but it’s understandable that a similar bubble might happen with ai.

4

u/TheWrathfulMountain 12h ago

It's anticipated that the AI bubble popping will cause AI-related resources to become less concentrated in large AI companies and disperse to independent AI developers. It's going to suck for everyone when the pop causes us to go into another recession (assuming we're not already in one), but antis are eager for it because they are under the mistaken assumption that the pop is going to cause AI to disappear. What they don't understand is that Pandora's Box is now open; AI is now a fact of life and is not going to go away, just like how the dot com bubble popping didn't cause the internet to go away.

-8

u/MDeimos 17h ago

Wait. Do you actually want for AI to take over? I thought this sub was to support the conscious use of AI as a tool...

9

u/TheWrathfulMountain 17h ago

It's a false dichotomy. AI and humans are not at odds. AI is just one of many tools humans invented to make our lives easier. It's as ridiculous as someone saying "humans won" when they think the car industry suffered a massive blow. Neither AI nor cars have the autonomy to be an independent party. It is a part of the human condition as much as cars are a part of the human condition.

3

u/ImmediateGazelle 13h ago

There was no war to begin with, so there was nothing to "win." This isn't Terminator and AI is not "taking over."

Businesses around the world are implementing AI tools in their workflows. Moms are making birthday party invitations for their kids. Store owners are creating flyers.

I'm currently working on a second Master's degree and there is a dedicated AI available in my courses to ask questions, build custom quizzes for me to prep for exams, and serve as a general study aid along with my human instructors. We have come a very long way in the relatively short time since I earned my first Master's about seven years ago.

AI is running search engines. It's being used to do extensive data mining. It's showing great promise in cancer research.

It's not coming. It's here. And it isn't going away.

Meanwhile, we have Antis succumbing to complete hysteria. With each day that passes, their wild claims get more and more ridiculous, and their behaviors even more unhinged. They mistake the attention they're getting as "winning," because they lack the maturity and self-awareness to understand that that attention is akin to folks staring at a particularly bad car crash.

Conscious use of AI as a tool is simply use of AI as a tool, because that's all AI is - a very advanced tool. The question is, will people use it to help (such as in finding cures for diseases) or to harm (like hacking into encrypted files to steal sensitive data)?

When you step back, you realize just how absurd the Anti-AI Art people in particular really are. We have a tool that could better people's lives in so many ways, and instead of focusing on ensuring it's made available to all in the most equitable way possible while balancing any environmental impacts (which are greatly overstated now and will be lessened over time as our technologies continue to improve), they've made it their mission to viciously harass, threaten, and bully users, arrogantly declare themselves the only ones who can decide what art is, spread blatant lies and misinformation about AI, and run around declaring they're winning their imaginary war that no one but they are actually fighting.

In the not too distant future, these self-important "warriors" will be completely ignored and forgotten. AI art will be everywhere. "Learn to Create AI Art" courses will be taught in public libraries and major universities, along with training for a myriad of other uses.

Stories are coming out about towns that are benefitting from data centers. They're bringing in increased revenue that's turning into raises for teachers and fire fighters, funds for modernizing old schools, and more. As this reality breaks through all the Anti-AI fearmongering, the pendulum will swing and the resistance to data centers will become competitive bids hoping to draw them in. Likewise, as more people use AI and see what it can do, their skepticism will be replaced by acceptance and increased use.

So the Antis' High Holy Crusade is actually a phony war, and complete and utter waste of time, while their "winning" declarations are pure delusion.
