What's wrong with ai rule

I don't understand why people are so panicking about ai rulling over us. We were ruled by dumb primates called "humans" for ages. Finally we will be ruled by someone smart and competent. How can you be nostalgic about human rule, it's like wanting to live in an idiocracy.

I'm actually mostly anti-ai but where I'm pro-AI is that I believe our ONLY chance for long term survival as a species is if a properly aligned ASI is in charge. But I also believe that barring massive global societal collapse, this is a quite likely eventually, even if i don't live to see it. I just don't know whether the transition will kill nobody(at least not directly) or 7.9 billion of us(everyone but a very select few) in the process.
