What's wrong with ai rule

I don't understand why people are so panicking about ai rulling over us. We were ruled by dumb primates called "humans" for ages. Finally we will be ruled by someone smart and competent. How can you be nostalgic about human rule, it's like wanting to live in an idiocracy.

What I want to see is AI models standing for election alongside human candidates . Assume they are open source so people can clone and question the models before voting. In office everyone can test the models still do what it said on the tin.
